Got to attend a great meeting with the East Tennessee Meeting Professionals group today.

The "networking" format of today's meeting was a great opportunity to connect with old and new friends! Chapter President Elyse Large and the board put together some great table topics for discussion for our time together.

Special thanks to Greg Schmid from Old City Coffee Catering for some unique and incredible coffee offerings. And kudos the team at Knoxville's Home2 Suites by Hilton on N. Peters Rd. for a job well done in serving as our venue this month!

Big thanks go out to Greater Knoxville Hospitality Association - GKHAGreater Knoxville Hospitality Association, JIll Thompson, Jake Himmelspach from Ecolab, and the Hilton Garden Inn - Knoxville for making our "Booked Solid" event possible today.

Their sponsorship and support gave me, Preston Sharpston, SPHR, and Marcedes Long Schindler from the THE HOTEL INSIDER the opportunity to talk about everything from recruitment, interviewing, to marketing for today's hotel guest.

I just wrapped up a six-month leadership cohort, and reading feedback like this truly reminds me why I do what I do.

Leading this cohort was a true privilege.

Over six months, we explored leadership from every angle — strategy, self-awareness, communication, and courage. Watching these leaders grow, challenge themselves, and support each other was both humbling and inspiring.

There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing this work truly makes a difference — not just in organizations, but in the lives and confidence of the leaders themselves.

I am so grateful to have helped with their journey!

Wrapped up our final session - The Power of Positive Leadership as part of my 6-month Leadership Certificate Program today. It was so neat see the team present some lessons from the last 6 months.

And great to share the word about the power of positivity, dealing with energy vampires, the role they play in helping shape their workplace culture, etc.

Interested in bringing this or a customized similar program to your team? Just reach out to me. I would love to chat with you about your needs and explore the options.

Have to give a BIG shoutout to the Sales team at the Pigeon Forge Hilton Garden Inn. They are truly amazing to work with.

Had so much fun with the leadership team from Smoky Mountain Resorts yesterday learning about Conflict Management and Service Recovery. This team came ready to learn and fully engaged!

Of course, we used the LEGO Serious Play methodology to explore how conflict shows up in their daily work and how they respond to it. Got to share the L.E.A.R.N. model and unpacked the Thomas-Kilman model, as we assessed our default conflict resolution styles.

Special thanks to Nick Miller for his trust in me with his team and his hard work to make this all happen.

Want to find out how you can bring this workshop to your team or maybe some other customized training for your group? Just DM me. I would love to chat with you.

Just got to attend a free and great marketing workshop presented by J. Rachel West.

Sponsored by the Tennessee Small Business Development Centers (TSBDC) and the Pigeon Forge Chamber of Commerce. Big thanks to Gregg Bostick, Samantha Fox, CAP , and Brandy Dominguez for their collaboration to make this happen.

Loved Rachel’s solid and simple framework to make me think about how to market my business.

Plus I got to see some familiar faces and meet some new folks too!

Was absolutely privileged to spend the day with University of Tennessee, Knoxville Division of Access and Engagement team this Thursday as part of their Spring Refresher Retreat.

Had so much fun bringing them The 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work and Team with Positive Energy from Jon Gordon's The Energy Bus. Love to see and hear the insights from a fun and simple "greeting" exercise to determining their Vision, inviting passengers to get on their bus with incredibly fun videos, and talking about "Energy Vampires".

For the afternoon session, we pulled out the bricks and used some LEGO Serious Play methodology to unpack How to Build a Great Team. So neat to see and hear the stories from some individual and team builds. Loved the team builds and shares from the team talking about next level excellence. And of course, the one brick commitment they will take to make it happen.

Special thanks to Lamar Bryant, Ph.D., MBA and Tyvi Small, PhD, MBA for the engagement, but more importantly trusting me with the entire team. Truly grateful to have been part of their day!!!
