We have had a busy summer practicing, parading, and prepping for our fall season! If you didn’t catch us at the Haywood County Pride Parade, you can see us at one of our three away games coming up! Head down to Rome, Georgia to see us take on on August 30th!

Hey everyone! Long time no talk! We have missed everyone but hopefully this describes a little bit of our social media hiatus. Please take a moment to read.

Smoky Mountain Roller Derby has known the Swain County Recreation Center as our home since 2011. As of January 2025, the county revoked our privileges to practice in the facility due to the concern of potential of damage from our skates and equipment. If you aren’t familiar with roller derby/skating, our skates are crafted to avoid leaving any kind of damage, sport court especially. This is extremely hurtful to the team, as we have done nothing but prove our loyalty to maintaining and upkeeping the space in the past decade (plus) that we have been using it. Our team is struggling to find a new practice space and we were forced to cancel our already planned 2025 home bout schedule.

Hello everyone!

We want to thank all of the teams and individuals that reached out to our team following hurricane Helene. Thankfully all of our skaters are safe. Unfortunately, one of our amazing, well-loved skaters Ann-E-Archy lost her car in the damage done by the hurricane, on top of the damage done to her apartment in Asheville.
