First Pop-tastic Friday in the books! We hope everyone enjoyed themselves at practice and we look forward to the intrasquad in the morning! See you at 8:30am!!!

We're excited to add a little extra fun to our Fridays this swim season!

Join us after practice each Friday for our Pop-Tastic Fridays series. These are simple, fun treats and activities designed to celebrate our swimmers, encourage team spirit, and make summer even more memorable.

We hope your swimmers will stay for a few extra minutes after practice each Friday to enjoy the fun with their teammates.

Just a few announcements and reminders before our season begins

📢Last call for swim team merchandise is this Friday, May 22nd. Our swim team merchandise is a great way to show support for our team and it such a great design again this year. Merchandise can be purchased via swimtopia.

💰If you or anyone you know is interested in being sponsor this year we would greatly appreciate that. If you are interested please email Tracy Aiello at [email protected] by Friday May 22nd. Sponsorships of $250 and above will receive $50 off their registration

🎟️Stroke turn officials are needed again this year. If you need to re-certify or are looking to be a stroke turn official for the first time please email [email protected] where they will provide you with a passcode and then follow this link Stroke and Turn to take the course.

😎Swim test is this Friday May 22nd starting at 9:30 am

We’re calling on students who want to give back to their community while earning volunteer service hours. Join us for upcoming work days to help get the pool and facilities ready for an amazing summer season!

Dear Crestwood Hills Families,

We are looking for parents willing to become certified for our Referee, Starter, and Stroke & Turn volunteer positions for the 2026 swim season. These roles are REQUIRED in order for us to successfully host and complete swim meets, and we truly cannot do it without parent support.

Over the last few years, only a small handful of families have consistently stepped into these important roles, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication and support. However, we desperately need more volunteers willing to become certified so the responsibility is shared and our meets can continue to run smoothly.

To help clarify the process and requirements, details from GKAISA are included below.

GKAISA Official’s Certification Requirements & Procedure

GKAISA rules require that all persons serving as Referee, Starter, or Stroke & Turn Judge be certified by GKAISA in that position.

Certification Overview

There are three levels of certification:

• Stroke & Turn (ST) — Entry level certification required for all officials
• Starter (SR) — Requires one full year of ST experience
• Deck Referee (DR) — Requires either:

Two years certified as ST, OR
One year ST plus one year SR

For the 2026 season, all previous certifications expired in 2025. Anyone wishing to officiate must complete the new certification process for 2026.

USA Swimming Reciprocity

Officials already certified through USA Swimming may qualify for reciprocity. If your name does not appear on the certified officials list, please email:

Stroke & Turn Certification

GKAISA has moved to an online clinic and testing process through:

strokeandturn.com

The course includes:
• Full explanations of swimming rules
• Video demonstrations and scenarios
• Online testing with unlimited attempts
• Passing score of 80% required

Certification remains valid for 3 years once completed.

To obtain access:
Email [email protected] requesting a course access key.

Once completed, no additional action is needed. GKAISA will monitor course completion directly.

Starter & Deck Referee Clinics

These certifications still require attendance at an online clinic.

Please note:
Admittance will NOT be allowed more than 10 minutes after the meeting begins.
