🎒💙 Supplies for Success: Making a Difference Together! 💙🎒

The Davis Family YMCA recently wrapped up our Supplies for Success fundraising drive, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to make a BIG impact!

Over three weeks, we collected enough school supplies to fill 48 backpacks for children in need across Knox County. With the help of our amazing Davis Family Y volunteers, the backpacks were packed with school supplies and encouraging notes at the Davis Family Y, then given out to children through the Knox County Clothing and Resource Center. ✏️📚💙

This would not have been possible without the generous support of JCPenney Turkey Creek and our wonderful Davis Family YMCA members. A special thank-you to Michelle, GM of JCPenney Turkey Creek, for advocating for the Y’s Backpack Drive and for her generous donation of $250 in JCPenney gift cards to help purchase backpacks!

Together, we’re helping local children start the school year feeling prepared, encouraged, and ready to succeed. That’s the power of community. That’s the Y. 💙

Lakeside Rodeo is happening this weekend, and the Davis Family YMCA is helping you get closer to the action while making a difference in our community!

Skip the parking hassle and support the Y! The Davis Family YMCA will be selling convenient parking spots for just $20 per vehicle, per night during the Lakeside Rodeo.

⚠️ IMPORTANT YMCA CLOSURE NOTICE:
The Davis Family YMCA will close at 4:00 PM on Friday and Saturday for the rodeo. All vehicles in the YMCA parking lot will need to exit before 4:00 PM. After 4:00 PM, parking will be available for rodeo attendees as part of our Parking for a Purpose fundraiser.

Your $20 parking donation helps support the YMCA’s mission and our work strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. 💙

Each class is 75 minutes with a great coach, boards and pieces, and a curriculum that builds focus, patience, and problem-solving one move at a time. And the first class is always free, so your child can try it out before you commit to anything.

It starts with one whiteboard. One workout. One goal.

Whether it's a superset workout or a pre-exhaust challenge, each participant works at their own pace, pushing just a little further than they did the week before. More confidence. More strength. More belief in what their body is capable of.

👏 A huge shout-out to our amazing Extreme Fit crew! You show up, put in the work, celebrate each other's victories, encourage one another through the tough sets, and prove that strength is about so much more than the weight you lift.

Many of our participants came into class thinking they "weren't strong enough" or had never lifted heavy before. Now they're accomplishing things they never imagined possible—and inspiring others along the way.

This class is about building strength, confidence, friendships, and discovering just how capable you really are. Every rep is a step toward becoming stronger, and no one has to do it alone.

💙 58 Years Later... He Proposed Again. 💙

Some stories remind us that the greatest adventures in life are the ones we share.

Recently, Davis Family YMCA members Mary and Steve Christ traveled to San Francisco and hiked to the top of Mt. Davidson—the very place where Steve first proposed to Mary nearly 58 years ago.

And when they reached the top...he got down on one knee and proposed all over again. ❤️💍

Their story is about so much more than a beautiful moment. It's about choosing health, staying active, and investing in the years that matter most. Through regular exercise, an active lifestyle, and participation in our Davis Family YMCA Senior classes, Mary and Steve continue to make memories that many only dream about.

At the YMCA, we believe fitness isn't just about today's workout—it's about building the strength, mobility, and confidence to enjoy life's biggest moments for years to come.

Thank you, Mary and Steve, for reminding us what healthy living can make possible. Your journey inspires us all.
