You cannot coach Philip Rivers the same way you coach Aaron Rodgers. If you tried to make Mahomes throw like Brady, you might ruin him. If you tried to make Brady throw like Mahomes, you might ruin him.
Mechanics are not a Religion. They are a Prescription. What cures one quarterback might kill another.
If you only teach "One Way," you aren’t a Coach. You are a Dictator.
Stop trying to be "Right." Start being effective. Fit the mechanics to the athlete, not the athlete to the mechanics.

Hot take: The most "coachable" kids often have the stiffest mechanics. 🤖
Stop trying to create "perfect" mechanics and start trying to be an efficient athlete.
Be respectful, but protect your natural movement signature.
Don't build a robot. Build a QB.

Most QBs don’t realize how fast the window closes.
You think you have time…
Until the recruiting calendar says otherwise.
Freshmen? You’ve got years, but they go quick.
Juniors? Your tape should already be turning heads.
Seniors? You’re in the final stretch.
Waiting for the “right moment” to take your training seriously?
That moment passed when you decided you wanted to compete at the next level.
College coaches aren’t looking for potential.
They’re looking for prepared.

The body doesn’t care if a movement is efficient, it only cares if it’s repeated.
That’s why so many quarterbacks get stuck.
They rep the same motion over and over, thinking volume equals progress.
But if the posture is off, the timing’s late, or the sequence is disconnected… those reps are just reinforcing inefficiency.
Improvement doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing it better, with focus, feedback, and a real understanding of what’s happening under the surface.
That’s the difference between getting reps and actually getting better.

The longer you coach, the more you realize this:
- You’re going to get some things wrong.
- You’re going to over-coach a kid.
- You’re going to miss something they needed.
- You’re going to try a cue that doesn’t land, and maybe even sets them back.
It doesn’t make you a bad coach.
What matters is what you do with that experience.
I’ve made mistakes. I’ve learned from them. And I keep learning.
Because if I’m not growing, how can I expect my QBs to?
If a coach tells you they’ve never messed up a player, they’re either new to this or not being honest.
And neither one is helping you get better.

I see it all the time, QBs getting told to completely change their motion.
New arm path. New footwork. Total reset.
Most of the time, that’s not what they need.
Because the issue isn’t everything.
It’s usually one or two inefficiencies hiding in plain sight:
Posture. Timing. Lack of connection between the lower and upper half.
You don’t need to scrap your motion.
You need to understand it.
Where it breaks. Why it breaks. And how to clean it up without losing what makes you you.
That’s how we train.
By understanding your motion the right way: repeatable, efficient, and game-ready.
