Well folks after living 18 years in Alaska and 13 years of business it is time to HANG UP my guiding profession here on Kodiak Island. I have truly been BLESSED with thousands of Memories, 10’s of thousands of photos & caught at least half of that in salmon & Dolly’s.
The local Kodiak community has been supportive beyond words & the FRIENDSHIPS I have made will be the hardest thing to walk away from. I now retire my very well worn bear spray(busted one bear and me 3 times with it over 8 years)my wading boots(this is the 10th pair I have worn through).BUT I WILL NEVER RETIRE THE FLY ROD!!! I think South America is calling some day..... Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to show you a place made from Gods grace & magnificent beauty. I WILL NEVER FORGET ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
P.s, if you have bothered to read this far I will ask please for ONLY prayer’s for my safe travels into an unknown future (to Texas) Asking questions like “why are you leaving” or “why don’t you stick it out” or “come back and work in the summers’s) is a mental place I left & will not return to or answer. Very bittersweet day for me. This will be the last year I get to be with my most returned clients over the last 13 years. Ed & Cory, we have walked many a mile, cast thousands of times and taken great fish with memories abound. Thanks for your friendship & business! Dake.

My Swiss client came sooooo close to getting the grand slam on salmon. Just needed the chum that his buddy caught. (The 300 pinks are not pictured....).

THIS is how the SWISS roll! Shore lunch of King crab,Jack Daniel’s & Silvers on the bank! The Swiss are hands down the hardest working & pleasant fisherman you’ll ever see on the bank!!

Today’s fishing with out of town friends was just what the doctor ordered!!!! Crushed em’, and Andy hasn’t had a fly rod bend in a couple years.

Once again the Mom’s of the world are crushing the fish! One starting off with her young daughter & the other so tuff & hot she just wanted to wet/wade! Awesome 😎
