What a turnout! Our Kauai ʻohana came out to pick up donated water, ice, and finish-line food from The Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon. Pick up is pau as the community of Kauai came out in full force. Mahalo nui to our TKM staff and volunteers for getting about $30,000 worth of items into the community in a safe, efficient way. Stay safe, look out for one another, and mahalo for showing up for our island!

We are truly sorry about the cancellation of the 2026 Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon. Safety comes first, and we know this is a hard disappointment after all the training and travel. Registered participants can pick up their finisher medal tomorrow, Sunday, September 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Group Entrance. Mahalo for your patience and for being part of this community. We hope to see you on the course in 2027.

We are crushed to make this announcement, but the 2026 Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon is cancelled for Sunday, September 6th. After consulting County of Kauai emergency agencies and exploring every option, this is the only responsible choice as Hurricane Lowell approaches. Even though tomorrow’s forecast is favorable, road closures would hinder community storm prep; we also cannot guarantee runner and volunteer safety. Water, ice, and finish-line food will be donated. Pick up Sunday will be from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Group Entrance. Mahalo nui loa for your understanding. We’ll be back in 2027!

🏃🏽‍♀️🌺 Healthy keiki, healthy Hawaiʻi!

Mahalo to Wilcox Health for helping make the Keiki Run one of our favorite Kauaʻi Marathon traditions! From encouraging our keiki to get outside and get moving to cheering them on every step of the way, this morning was all about building healthy habits through FUN.

Nearly 200 keiki come out for this event each year—and yes, chasing a giant chicken is part of the experience. 🐔😂

We’re proud to have partners like Wilcox Health who invest in the health of our island and the next generation.

🏃🏽‍♀️🌺 Healthy habits start young!

With the support of Wilcox Health Wilcox Health , this morning’s Keiki Run was about so much more than crossing the finish line. It was about encouraging our keiki to move their bodies, build confidence, have fun, and experience the joy of being active together. 💛

And of course, there was the Chicken Run! 🐔💨 Our keiki put their speed to the test racing the chicken to the finish line — and yes, some of them actually caught him! 😂 We guess racing chickens is just an island thing!

A huge mahalo to Wilcox Health for sponsoring today’s Keiki Run and supporting the health and well-being of Kauaʻi’s next generation.

And to all of our Kauaʻi Marathon runners taking on the course tomorrow — good luck! May today’s youngest runners remind us that every lifelong journey starts with one step. 🏃🏽‍♂️🌴

Event update! We want the community of Kauai, as well as our participants, to be as informed as possible with the possible impending storm. We understand there is uncertainty as of today, but we are in communication with government agencies that will ultimately decide whether roads and public safety allow the event to proceed. We will be in touch as soon as we receive new information. Mahalo for your patience!
