Gentle Giant’s solo weekend at Goodland Raceway ended a little earlier than we’d hoped with a DNF. Mother Nature had already done a number on the track, dumping a whole lot of water on it before race day. The Goodland Raceway crew put in the work and did everything they could to give everyone a place to race — but sometimes there’s only so much you can do when Mother Nature decides she wants to be part of the track-prep crew.

The end result was definitely what most racers would lovingly call a “cowboy-up” track — wet, rough, rutted, and not particularly interested in anyone’s suspension components LOL. And just to be crystal clear: every driver and race team makes their own decision about whether to put their equipment on the track. Nobody forces us through that gate or onto that racing surface. Sometimes racers look at the conditions, know exactly what they’re getting themselves into, strap in anyway and say, “Well…let’s see what happens.” The reality is, some teams decided they weren't willing to put their racers or their equipment at risk. The rest decided to take their chances at a chance to win a 6' trophy 🏆 and a fat check.

Turns out, sometimes what happens is you come home with a broken left-front shock…and we’re guessing we weren’t the only trailer carrying a few extra pieces and parts home after this one. No blame toward the track crew whatsoever. They wanted to give the racers a place to race, the racers wanted to race, and everyone gave it their best shot. Sometimes the track wins. This weekend, the track won. We’ll fix what’s broken, get Gentle Giant put back together, and live to cowboy up another day.

And apparently this photo from earlier in the week was less of a cocktail and more of a premonition. Here’s to bad decisions, expensive hobbies, cowboy-up racetracks, and the confidence to look at something you KNOW is probably going to cost you money and say, “Eh…send it.”

Cheers to the decisions we make willingly…and the parts we replace because of them.

Update: rained out tonight. Resume tomorrow.

Since Gentle Giant didn't have plans this weekend, he made a last minute decision to head west for the 2 day Flatlanders Fall Classic at Goodland Raceway. He'll be rolling solo, so swing by the trailer to say hi or help keep him company! Good luck 25X!

Just reminiscing about an INCREDIBLE season at Rooks County Speedway! This little gem in Stockton, Kansas, may have officially become our new favorite track in the Sunflower State!

The staff and volunteers? INCREDIBLE! The track? Full of speed, character, and some GREAT racing! The time spent with our in-laws from the Corn 🌽 State of Iowa? PRICELESS! (Although, we're still trying to convince them that Kansas has more to offer than just wheat!)

There's just something special about a small-town dirt track on a Friday night. The roar of the engines, the smell of race fuel, the friendships, the laughter, and a community coming together to bring a little magic back to Friday Night Lights!

A HUGE thank you to the amazing staff, volunteers, drivers, sponsors, and fans who helped bring racing back to life at this quaint little track in Stockton. Your hard work and dedication certainly didn't go unnoticed, and we are so thankful to have been a small part of such a memorable season!

If you haven't experienced a Friday night at Rooks County Speedway, put it on your 2027 calendar! Bring the family, grab some friends, fill those grandstands, and come see what makes this little Kansas track so special!

We can't wait to be back next year! 🏁❤️

Now that the regular season has concluded, it’s time to go to work on our October 15th-17th Nutrien Ag Solutions Battle for the Belt by BPD event…

From almost getting wiped out in Turn 1 to holding the championship trophy. 🏁🏆

Sometimes you have to take the hard hits—or the close calls—to figure out what your best really looks like. Lap 2 (watch the short clip below) was nearly the end of the night, but the kept diggin’ all the way to the winner’s circle.

Hard work, a little luck, and a whole lot of heart. 2fiddy is officially your Rooks County Speedway track champion! 🍾 To make things even sweeter, Tate's soon-to-be Father-in-law also took home the championship in the hobby stock division! Troy finished the night with an 8th place finish, but did earn him a 2nd place finish for the overall season!

Yesterday Gentle Giant spent a few hours on the 25X getting her ready for Championship night at Rooks County Speedway.
