**UPDATE**MISSING PERSON RETURNED SAFELY HOME**The La Habra Police Department was notified that Ms.Velez returned home in the evening hours of September 19th, where she was reunited with family. We want to thank the public for all their support and tips we have received throughout this investigation.

We are still looking for 83 year-old Velez. We've provided an updated photograph of her and ask for the community to please call if you see Velez or know anything about her whereabouts.

Today was Love La Habra, where City staff, the La Habra Host Lions Club, the Warehouse Church, the La Habra Youth Committee and many others volunteered to make the City and even better place to live. Here are photos from some of the projects worked on:

Did you knowThe Red Cross provides about 40% of our nation’s blood and blood components, all from generous volunteer donors. But supply can’t always meet demand because only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly. Each new donor helps us meet patient needs.

• 13.6 million units of whole blood and red blood cells are collected in the U.S. in a year.
• About 45% of people in the U.S. have Group O (positive or negative) blood; the proportion is higher among Hispanics (57%) and African Americans (51%).
• Type O negative red cells can be given to patients of all blood types. Because only 7% of people in the U.S. are type O negative, it’s always in great demand and often in short supply.
• Type AB plasma can be transfused to patients of all blood types. Since only 4% of people in the U.S. have type AB blood, this plasma is usually in short supply.

The Orange County Workforce Solutions Center now has a mobile unit that brings its services to cities throughout Orange County. The mobile unit will be in La Habra this Thursday, August 21st, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., at the Hillcrest Community Health & Wellness Center, 341 S. Hillcrest St.

Exciting news! The City has added a fifth concert to this year's Concerts in the Park Series. 24 Magic: Bruno Mars Tribute will perform at Portola Park on Thursday, August 4th, 7:00-8:30 pm. See our updated concerts flyer below for all the upcoming concerts.

Beginning on Wednesday, July 6th, and Mondays and Wednesdays through Wednesday, November 30th, Move More, Eat Healthy and Providence-St. Jude have paired to offer free instruction on how to use the fitness equipment at Las Lomas Park, 835 S. Euclid St. Instruction will take place from 7:00-8:00 a.m. Certified Fitness instructors also will train volunteers. Brio Park splash pad is now OPEN.

The Brio Park splash pad is closed as of 4:15 pm Thursday, June 23rd. It will be re-opened after it has been cleaned.

Today's Cool Cops event at Oeste Park, put on by the City of L Habra and the La Habra Police Department, was a major success. A big crowd enjoyed free ice cream, inflatable water slides, and the park's splash pad.
