🤿 I co-hosted a women’s only group snorkel with Babsi from the San Diego Women Surf, Snorkel and Dive Community group!

💙 It’s intimidating trying to find a buddy, so I wanted to create a safe space for those who identify as women to get the chance to know other merfolk, find a future buddy, and get to see our local wildlife!

👉 Our next one is July 17th on Women’s Dive Day 🥰

🥲 It’s been a year since I’ve made this PSA and I’m sad to say not much has changed for the Sea Lions at La Jolla Cove

📣 A new sign has been put up and a ranger is there playing a message on a handheld speaker.

🤷🏽‍♀️ No fines, no real consequences are being given out to tourists who harass our wildlife.

☠️ 70% of pups born last year didn’t make it…70%

So here’s the same PSA in hopes that if you’re visiting or know someone about to visit La Jolla cove, please keep your distance and educate those around you 💙

✅ I’ll start…Learn about your local ecosystem! My area is home to a marine canyon, a well of resources that provides for all marine life in my area. Which is why it is a Marine Protected Area or MPA that keeps people from overfishing or taking anything in order to maintain its biodiversity and keystone species.
