I’ve never done this before, but they say accountability makes us work harder!
I spent the first 3 months of 2021 trying to add some muscle through my back and chest. I succeeded in adding about 1.5”, but at the same time added about the same amount to my waist.
So for the next six weeks I’m going to cut back down to see how lean I can get! Here are some things I won’t do during my diet:
1: I’m not excluding ANYTHING from my diet. I’m not going keto, or paleo, or vegan, or cutting out bread, or even chocolate or ice cream. In fact I had a kick-ass croissant bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast today!
2: I’m not crash dieting, and won’t eat less than about 2,000 calories per day. My goal is to be between 2000-2200 every day, with about 200g of protein.
3: I’m not adding ungodly amounts of cardio to my training. In fact, I’ll probably end up doing LESS in my workouts than I did for the first 3 months of the year.
4: Last, I’m not drastically changing my supplements during this cut. I do sometimes increase the amount of caffeine I take in to help with my appetite, but not by more than 30-50%. I’m not taking any fat burners or other diet pills, and I’m not cutting out my creatine.
Thanks for reading! I look forward to posting my “after” photos on Transformation Tuesday, 5/18.

Want to learn how to eat what you want without sabotaging your progress?
Want to learn how to stop feeling guilty for not “eating clean”?
Want to stop restricting yourself from eating grains, sugars, carbs, or the color white?
Most people spend way too much trying to “diet” rather than building good nutritional habits. And yes, those habits include ice cream, and Italian food, and tacos.
Diets have been shown to work for some, but they’ve also been shown to actually cause increased body fat percentage in many. How many fit people do you know personally who are ever “dieting” or who actually stick to Keto all the time?
I don’t know any. Literally 0. And it’s my job to be around people who are in good shape all day.
So what’s the takeaway here? Dieting is making you fat. Stop dieting, start living your life, and eat real foods that make you feel good. I’m not telling you to go gorge yourself at McDonald’s, or eat a pint of B&Js every night, but there is a middle ground between fast food and 24-hour fasts. You need to find it.
If you’re curious, shoot me a message. I would be thrilled to help you get started on your journey to quitting diets forever!

Do you have a slow metabolism?
Then I have good news!
Does dieting seem futile? Maybe you have some early success, but can’t keep your momentum going?
I have good news for you.
That first photo is me, back in high school. I was active. I worked out. But no matter how much I tried, my “diet” never worked.
Now, I’m eating about 3,000 calories a day, including pizza, burgers, and ice cream, and living comfortably at about 15% body fat.
How did I do it? By learning about how nutrition affects my body and building my diet and exercise plan to live my life while staying in good shape.
Let me be clear, this isn’t a “quick fix.” For most people it takes 3 to 6 months to reignite their metabolism. But the good news is that IT IS POSSIBLE. You aren’t doomed.
If you’re sick of dieting, I’m here to help. If you want to learn how to live your life and stay in good shape at the same time, I’m here to help. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have questions!
