Our members are extremely proud of the sailors from our club who won this year's Bayview Mackinac Race's Team Challenge.
The D'Arcangelos' J/109 Consig, the Taylors' J/105 Whistler, and Chris Cyrul's Olson 34 American Flyer made up our team.
This evening some of those sailors attended the annual gathering at Bayview in Detroit to accept the Team Challenge Award.
Congratulations! NCYC proud.

Congrats to our North Cape members who put on the Lake Erie Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta this weekend.
Kudos to the owners of Kashmir for sharing their boat, knowledge, and confidence once again, with the team from Indiana University.

The first light on Ohio's 82-acre West Sister Island on Lake Erie was established in 1847, with the tower and dwelling significantly modified in 1868. While most offshore light keepers returned to the mainland in the winter, keeper Chauncey Fitzmorris elected to spend his winters on the island tending his livestock. His first trip back to the mainland after ice-out was frequently touted as a harbinger of spring by the local newspapers. The light was automated in 1937 and that same year the entire island was designated as the West Sister Island National Wildlife Refuge by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. NCYC's VC Jen Logan, along with Brandie Bohney, enjoyed the hospitality of Toledo Sailing Club and Maumee River Yacht Club on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon. They thank those clubs for the friendship and burgees.
