🥎⚾️MEET BOARD MEMBER BRANDI BERLIN⚾️🥎
Board Member | 8U Team Mom🦡⚾️
Sometimes joining a youth baseball league starts with a pretty simple idea.
For Brandi Berlin, it was signing her son Brodie up for something fun—somewhere he could make friends, build confidence and have something that was his own.
She also had a second motive: maybe, just maybe, it would get her partner Matt Lucroy back around the game he had always loved.
That part may have worked a little too well. 😂⚾
Matt couldn’t just sit on the sidelines, so naturally, he started coaching.
Fast-forward three seasons and baseball has become a full-blown family affair for Brandi and Matt.
Matt now coaches the 8U Honey Badgers, his dad Steve coaches alongside him, and three of Brandi and Matt’s children—Brodie, Brylee and Owen—are part of the Honey Badgers family.
And right in the middle of it all is Brandi.
For the past three seasons, she has served as a Team Mom in our 8U Baseball division, doing what team moms somehow manage to do: keeping everyone informed, organized and where they’re supposed to be while simultaneously handling about 15 other things. 😂
But if you ask Brandi where she really wants to be?
Put her in the dugout. ❤️⚾
It’s loud. It’s messy. It’s chaotic. And somehow, most of the time, it’s organized.
It’s also where Brandi gets a front-row seat to one of her favorite parts of youth sports—watching kids realize what they’re capable of.
Watching the player who struggled finally connect with the ball. Seeing the catch they weren’t sure they could make. Watching confidence replace hesitation.
And then seeing those same kids move on to 10U, All-Stars or another season at Lady Lake knowing she got to be a small part of their journey.
That’s the good stuff. ❤️
Her own family’s story at Lady Lake may still have a few chapters left to write, too. Their youngest Honey Badger, Brylee, may eventually decide softball is calling her name. 🥎💕
If that happens, just look for Brandi sprinting between the baseball and softball fields trying to be in three places at once. 😂
Because somewhere along the way, what started as simply signing Brodie up for baseball became something much bigger.
It became their family’s thing.
And now Brandi is taking the next step by joining the Lady Lake Babe Ruth Board.
She brings three seasons of firsthand experience with our players and families, along with the organization, energy and willingness to jump in that she’s already shown as a Team Mom.
For Brandi, youth sports aren’t just about what happens on the scoreboard. They’re about confidence, friendships, teamwork, sportsmanship, community and giving kids a place where someone is always cheering for them.
We’re excited to have her bring that same heart to our board as we continue building the future of Lady Lake Babe Ruth Baseball & Softball. ❤️⚾🥎
Congratulations and welcome to the board, Brandi Berlin!
And Brandi… you may want to keep that schedule handy.
Softball might be coming. 😂🥎
