What an exciting day for our shop customers; WILEY EXCALIBUR RACING, and DYNOCO RACING!
CONGRATS to Arizona racer, CARSON BOWERS, and the WILEY EXCALIBUR Team on their POLE POSITION and NEW TRACK RECORD set during qualifications (today) for the 2026 PURDUE GRAND PRIX! Carson turned a 24.616 second lap, shattering the previous record of 24.981.
The 2nd quickest qualifier was Ohio's DYLAN WHITE, driving for DYNOCO RACING. Dylan laid down a 24.826 second lap, to grab the outside front row starting slot.
That means it's a DOUG WRIGHT RACING FRONT ROW, as our shop originally built the cages and tanks for BOTH teams. We are so proud of the effort put forth by BOTH teams.
A record 86 entries will compete for the WINNER'S TROPHY next Saturday, April 25th, when the GREEN FLAG drops for the 69th running of the PURDUE GRAND PRIX.

Lots of wonderful cars at this year's Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona. This '36 Ford 3-window was one of my favorites.

Great job today by Ryan Fiorentino and the Tarkington Hall team, taking the win in Kaminsky Park's first Fall Caged GP Race. Ryan was driving a 2025 Tony Kart with a current model Doug Wright Racing roll cage and fuel cells.

It's SPEEDWEEK at the BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS. So many great memories of racing there with my dad (Rex Wright) in year's past. Our little Beretta went 228.5 mph -- fastest in our class every year we attended --but at the time, just short of the 230 mph world record. Hoping to go back again someday and see if we can eclipse the record (which is now 237 mph).

It was great to be associated with another WIN at the spectacular Purdue Grand Prix!
Congratulations to Kappa Sigma driver RAIF SHAH who delivered a dominating performance at last weekend's race!
Raif was driving Kart #96, a Yamaha KT100 powered Cosmic Chassis with a 2025 model Doug Wright Racing built suspended roll cage, head/shoulder support, and exchangeable fuel cells. Early in the race, it was fun to watch three (3) of our Doug Wright Racing built karts race 1-2-3, nose-to-tail.
Also, KUDOS to the students who make up the Purdue Grand Prix Foundation! You delivered a FANTASTIC RACE 68, along with a variety of great pre-race activities on campus. With more than 75 ENTRIES in this year's race, the FUTURE of the PURDUE GRAND PRIX remains very bright, indeed!
If you've never made it to a Purdue Grand Prix, make plans to attend. It's truly the Greatest Spectacle In College Racing.
A special thank you to Doug Wright Racing staff member (and great racer herself) Sara Conley for all of her great welding and fabrication work on more than (30) Grand Prix karts this year! 😁👍🏁

It's that time of year! The Purdue Grand Prix is this Saturday, April 26th 🏁.
Good luck to all of the teams we built new karts for in 2025, as well as the teams we assisted with set-ups, coaching, and repairs! Our karts are starting 1st, 2nd, and 4th in the starting lineup for this year's race.
Here's last year's winner, Aidan Fox (Kappa Sigma Fraternity) in his Doug Wright Racing built Cosmic kart, leaving our shop today after some final tune-ups.
The Purdue Grand Prix is one of the coolest events I have ever participated in - check it out - over 70 entries this year. Be there!!! Purdue Grand Prix Track. 😃👍🏁.
