At this 3 hour workshop you will learn several locomotive variations, the GMB Method, how to practice Mindful Movement, and how to integrate into you own practice.
Locomotion uses movements that engage the entire body to develop high levels of strength, flexibility, and motor control. In this workshop, you will learn 4 Core Movement Patterns. Each pattern and their variations can attribute to a solid foundation for Physical Autonomy (Movement Freedom”). Locomotive movements can carry over to other skills you may be practicing, and even improve your daily activities. For Real!
Your level of experience is irrelevant. You will need to be prepared to crawl on the floor to explore more movement with curiosity, and a willingness to have fun!
This workshop can be the first step to developing a movement practice, or it can be just what you need to take your training to the next level!
Athleticism is comprised of 3 main attributes, strength, flexibility/mobility, and motor control. Why are these important? How is this relevant?
Strength
Be prepared for everyday activities by developing strength in multiple directions and awkward positions
Mobility
Increased ranges of motion provides more opportunity to move effortlessly
Control
Learn to be mindful and confidently take ownership of your ability to move in and out of positions as you want or need to.
Join us in exploring a mindful approach to movement and discovering physical autonomy. Slow down, learn to assess and address your current limitations, and have fun doing it!
