Happy Birthday. Thank you Hanshi Anthony Sydney for all that you do.

Today, we proudly celebrate 40 years of excellence, discipline, and tradition at Goshin-Do Karate Dojo.

Goshin-Do is led by our President, Hanshi Anthony Sydney, Honbucho for the English-speaking Caribbean under Kuniba-Kai International—one of the largest Karate organizations in the world, led by Soke Kozo Kuniba and headquartered in Osaka, Japan.

A proud native of Trinidad & Tobago, Hanshi Sydney began his Karate journey in May 1974 and has now dedicated over 52 years to the art. His life’s work has gone far beyond teaching techniques—he has committed himself to shaping lives, instilling discipline, self-control, respect for authority, and building strong, confident individuals within our communities.

Since opening our doors on May 1, 1986 in St. James, Trinidad, Goshin-Do Karate Dojo has grown tremendously. What began as a single dojo with just a handful of students, has expanded into a strong and united family, with branches across Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Barbados, St. Lucia, and the United States (Louisiana & New Jersey).

Over the decades, we have had the privilege of training and mentoring thousands of students, guiding them not only in Karate, but in life—helping them become more focused, respectful, and well-rounded individuals.

To our parents, we extend our deepest gratitude. Thank you for your continued trust, support, and for choosing us as your preferred Dojo for your children. It is truly an honor that the Instructors of Goshin-Do Karate Dojo do not take for granted—to be entrusted with guiding, teaching, and leading your children on their Karate journeys. Your partnership and belief in what we do make all of this possible.

To our students—past and present—thank you for being part of this journey. Your dedication, growth, and spirit continue to inspire us every day.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we remain committed to upholding the values that have defined us for four decades and to continuing to build a legacy of excellence for generations to come.

40 Years Strong. One Dojo. One Family. One Path. 🥋✨

Today we celebrate legacy, growth, and purpose.

Goshin-Do Karate Dojo International proudly marks 40 years of excellence—four decades of discipline, strength, and transforming lives through martial arts.

Here in Louisiana, we celebrate 2 years of carrying that legacy forward—building warriors, strengthening families, and creating a positive space for our community to grow.

From our global roots to our local impact, this journey is about more than karate. It’s about character, confidence, and commitment.

Thank you to every student, parent, instructor, and supporter who continues to make this vision possible.

The legacy continues. The future is strong.

Osu.

Today's class was exceptional. We were honored to host a distinguished guest, NFL player and Super Bowl winner Ross Cockrell, who led the students in agility drills. The experience was both enjoyable and physically engaging. Thank you, Ross, for sharing your time with us. Ross Cockrell

Congratulations to these dedicated students on earning their well-deserved promotions! 🥋👏
Your hard work, discipline, and perseverance have paid off. Each belt represents more than just a rank—it reflects the time, effort, and commitment you’ve put into improving yourselves both on and off the mat. Watching your progress, confidence, and character grow is what martial arts is all about.
Keep training hard, stay humble, and continue striving to be better every day. This is just another step in your martial arts journey, and the future is bright for all of you.
We are proud of each and every one of you! OSS! 💪🥋
