And now we get to RUN IT BACK.

Yesterday was one of the hottest days of the summer.

Then I got a text that said:

“It ain’t hot. You being soft.” 😂

Fair enough.

So we ran.

No perfect conditions. No waiting for it to cool off. Just a bunch of people willing to get uncomfortable and get the work done.

Now it’s Friday and yesterday’s work is already in the bank.

Maybe it wasn’t hot after all. Maybe we were just soft. 😂☀️🏃

It’s 4:45 AM, so naturally I feel like y’all need to know a little more about Pep 🐈‍⬛

Yes, he’s our gym cat. But “gym cat” might be underselling this dude.

Pep is part greeter, part security, part pest control and 100% part of the CrossFit Lafayette family. If you’ve been around long enough, you’ve probably seen him roaming the gym, supervising workouts or posted up somewhere like he owns the building. Which, at this point, he kinda does.

And I say all of this because people hear “gym cat” and might picture some random outdoor cat 😂 Nah. This man lives better than most of us.

Pep drinks filtered water out of his copper spout. He eats chicken, liver, whole sardines and wet food for extra hydration. He gets groomed every other day, has gotten all his shots and has no problem going get checked by the vet.

Then, in return, he handles pest control free of charge 😂 just look for his stat sheet on the walls.

He’s healthy. He’s happy. He’s confident, curious and ridiculously comfortable around his people.

So if you see Pep around the gym, say what’s up to our dude. He loves his people and he loves his home.

And if you’re pulling into or out of the parking lot, please keep an eye out for him. He likes to make his rounds outside too and we want our dude safe. 🐈‍⬛🤝

Pep isn’t just a cat that hangs around CrossFit Lafayette. He’s ours. ❤️
