October 20-22, 2023 In 1977, UL Tennis, with the enthusiastic support of the Lafayette Tennis Community, founded the Cajun Tennis Classic.
The Cajun Classic became the first corporate sponsored fall collegiate tennis tournament in the nation. Two years later in 1979, with the inception and launch of ESPN, the Cajun Tennis Classic became the first televised collegiate tennis event.
