No barrel? No problem. Not every studio has access to a Spine Corrector or Ladder Barrel; however, the movement principles developed on these apparatus can still be effectively trained. Come join Danica Kalemdaroglu, as she demonstrates how commonly available props such as the balance ball, foam roller, TheraBand, hand, and ankle weights take front stage. In this creative, movement-filled workshop, you’ll learn how to hack the system and bring the magic of barrel work into any studio space.

This Classtermind is all about making smart, practical choices and replicating the biomechanical intent of the barrel repertoire within mat, reformer, or small studio environments.

Designed specifically for Pilates and movement instructors, this session will clarify the piriformis’ dual personality: powerful hip stabilizer and potential troublemaker.

Let’s unpack how the piriformis behaves in different hip positions, how it influences sacral mechanics, and why it often gets blamed for pain that may not even be its fault. Through practical movement exercises, cueing strategies, and programming ideas, you’ll leave confident in identifying when to strengthen, when to release, and when to look elsewhere.

WELCOME 2026! We are excited AND delighted to start our Classtermind season with Fabrice Lamego, Director of Pilates Pour Tous studio Lyon, Balanced Body Educator and Polestar graduate.

Join us as we RISE & ALIGN on January 25th.
