Playing chess helps develop cognitive skills such as planning, pattern recognition, and logical reasoning. Because players must think several moves ahead and evaluate consequences, chess strengthens concentration, memory, and problem-solving abilities that also support academic learning.
We’re starting this as a way to gather community, kids and parents together, once per month…. Maybe it grows into a weekly chess club 🤷♂️
Our jiujitsu professor, Jason Bukich was a local grade school champ and is providing lessons!
