This is my testimony today at the DLNR building in Honolulu asking that they reject the Army’s FEIS for Makua, Kahuku and Poamoho. I feel like the last 3 testimonies I’ve given these past weeks can all be interchangeable with each other whether it was DLNR today OHA this past Monday or Maui County Council last week the main message is we need to leave our Keiki a foundation and not a fight. Whether it’s housing or restorative justice or ‘Āina, if we not present in these spaces advocating for our future generations with our lahui then we not leaving them one foundation, we leaving them behind. Mahalo again to all the organizers today from @kalahuihawaii who gave out shirts to the first 100 people and to @hawaiiaction who provided bentos and everyone else who helped to support today, I love sharing space with our lahui and coming together to protect our Aina. 09/01/2025

🌿 Naupaka Kahakai & Naupaka Kuahiwi 🌿 Though they grow worlds apart—one by the sea, the other in the mountains—these two forms of naupaka are deeply connected in both Hawaiian moʻolelo (stories) and lāʻau lapaʻau (traditional medicine). 🌺 Medicinal Uses: Naupaka has long been used in lāʻau lapaʻau to treat cuts, skin irritations, and minor wounds. 🌱 Cultural Significance: Naupaka varieties in Hawai’i are indigenous, making them deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture. The tale of lovers torn apart, represented by the half-flowers of each naupaka, is also a reminder of the bond between mountain and ocean. #naupaka #nativeplants #hawaiianculture #hawaiiflowerlei  09/01/2025
