Hello everyone. We have an important update to share with you.
Over the past decade, the growth & evolution of the skating community has been incredible to witness. We’ve seen so many incredible skaters emerge onto the scene, watched as their talents grew, and cheered along as our community flourished. When CIB was first founded, our mission was to help grow park skating globally and share our passion with as many skaters as we could - and from our privileged position as a community advocate, we’re so stoked to have helped that to happen.
CIB has always been a labor of love and a huge passion project of the dedicated team behind it. But with personal circumstances changing, and the global skating community thriving, the CIB team feels now is a good time to take a step back and close this chapter of our lives.
From this week, CIB will be closing down. Our decision however, does not mean the end of our community. We are thrilled to be handing over autonomy to all of our global CIB Chapters, to manage and support their communities in the ways that best work for each of them. There is still a need for community and connection in skating, and we cannot wait to see what comes as each chapter reinvents themselves into crews that are as unique as each and every one of the individuals linked to it. Your Chapter Admins have been informed and we hope to see them collaborate with their crews to bring in this new era of skating.
Our hardware will be available from your local skateshops till it runs out. Blood and Thunder will be doing a closure sale for any remaining CIB merchandise. Our website will close later this week and, our social accounts will become inactive.
It has been a pleasure and privilege to see so many skaters ride our gear and it brought us great joy being a part of your skating journeys. There is so much more that could be said and a never ending list of people we are grateful for, but life is too short and so is the word cap. THANK YOU to EVERYONE who was a part of our journey and helped us to spread the stoke, none of this would have been possible without you and we can’t wait to see what comes next for skating.
With immense amounts of gratitude,
CIB Crew

* CIB CREW UPDATE * CIB Crew is in the process of reworking some of our functions and structures to better serve you, our CIB community. Starting September 1, we’ll be taking a social media break, and we’ll be back October. During the past year, we’ve made some exciting changes, including the introduction of our CIB Competition format, our Rollpocalypse event, and the reworking of our Tricktionary. On the cusp of these changes, we’re working on shifting our capacity, and we need some time and space to do that effectively. We’re grateful for your support and engagement, and we’d like to thank our superstar social media manager Hal Slaunwhite .fist902 for their incredible work on our channels, and throughout our community. We’ll be back in September with some exciting changes and we can’t wait to see you then!
