Beginning Monday May 1, 2017 the 300 yard rifle bay will be completely closed down for approximately 3 weeks. No guns allowed near this bay at all during this time. It will be getting upgrades similar to what was done on the 100 yard bay.

The availability of pistol bays will be limited this Saturday (4/29). The local USPSA shooting club, the London Bridge Action Shooters, will be hosting special match on pistol bays 1 & 2, with Friday afternoon being a setup day. The 100 yard rifle bay is now reopened for use after extensive improvements. Please enjoy and help preserve it's exemplary condition. Similar work is planned for the 300 yard bay.

The 100 yard rifle bay will be closed to all shooting for 10 to 15 days for range maintenance and upgrades. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we are sure the new range will be well worth it.

There's an old saying that goes, "An armed society is a polite society." Yet, for some reason that's not as likely to be true on a gun range. LHCSC is a place where all visitors are expected to arrive with a good attitude and behave with common courtesy and common sense. This club is intended to be a fun and family-friendy place. Check your ego and temper at the gate, and you are welcome.

Just a reminder that the availability of pistol and rifle bays will be limited this weekend. The local USPSA shooting club, the London Bridge Action Shooters, will be hosting their monthly practical pistol and multigun matches on Saturday 3/18 and Sunday 3/19, with Friday 3/17 being a setup day. There is an update to the posted schedule that affects the availability of pistol bays on 3/10-3/12. The local SASS Cowboy shooting club, the Colorado River Regulators, will be hosting their annual 2-day match on March 11-12, with Friday 3/10 being a setup day. Pistol bays 2-4 will be closed over the entire weekend. See the Calendar for more details.

One of the goals of LHCSC in 2017 is to improve the safety of members and visitors at the rifle and pistol bays. We see an occasional unsafe and ill-mannered person that needs to be removed, but often times regular folks are doing things that are terribly unsafe. One of the most common offenses is going down range to check/change targets without unloading your guns. All guns in the bay should be unloaded (and preferably holstered) before going down range. Another thing people do is get careless with their muzzle awareness, inadvertently "sweeping" themselves or others in the bay with the business end of a gun. Never bring a loaded gun on to the property. Guns should only be loaded at the line of fire and then immediately unloaded. You have got to exercise safety first above all else, especially inconvenience.

The board feels so strongly about improving safety that we have hired a security company to help with oversight. These folks are trained professionals in the range security business and are outfitted as such. They are there to make sure everyone is having a fun and safe time. If they check in with you at some point, don't feel threatened or picked on. They're just there to help and instruct. Please be polite and respectful, and we're sure you'll receive the same. Know that they have the full support of the board. If they ask anyone to change their behavior, and that behavior does not change, then the police will be called immediately.
