PWC have not been seen here since the days of Randy Laine (or so we have been told- film that old has probably deteriorated). Stand-Up Jet Ski Exhibition Returns to the San Clemente Ocean Festival
IJSBA, Hot Products and the San Clemente Ocean Festival Partner to Bring World-Class Freeride Talent Back to San Clemente’s Shores
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — July 18, 2026 — The International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA), Hot Products and the San Clemente Ocean Festival are pleased to announce the return of the Stand-Up Jet Ski Exhibition to one of Southern California’s most celebrated coastal events.
Founded in 1976, the San Clemente Ocean Festival is celebrating 50 years of bringing together athletes, families, residents and visitors for a weekend dedicated to ocean competition, recreation and community. Through its longstanding relationship with the City of San Clemente, the festival has grown into one of the city’s largest and most anticipated annual events.
This year’s festival will feature the highly anticipated return of stand-up Jet Ski exhibitions for the first time since the late 1990s, when influential water-sports figures such as Randy Laine and Herbie Fletcher helped introduce spectators to the excitement, athleticism and creativity of personal watercraft riding.
Special recognition is extended to Summer Strauch and Barrett Tester of the San Clemente Ocean Festival, whose leadership and support were instrumental in bringing the exhibition back to the event. Their efforts have helped reconnect the festival with an important chapter of its water-sports history while introducing a new generation of spectators to the evolution of stand-up Jet Ski freeriding.
The organizers would also like to extend a special thank-you to Tom Perry of Hot Products for his generous sponsorship support and continued commitment to the personal watercraft community. His involvement has played an important role in making the return of the Stand-Up Jet Ski Exhibition possible and in supporting the riders who will be showcasing the sport throughout the weekend.
Additional appreciation is extended to Mayor Rick Loeffler for his continued support and commitment to reintegrating the exhibition into both the City of San Clemente and the San Clemente Ocean Festival. The collaboration among festival leadership, city representatives, industry organizations, sponsors and participating athletes has made the exhibition’s return possible.
The exhibition will feature accomplished freeriders Dante Borruso, Matt Oppen, Chris Morrison and Mark Gomez. Each rider will showcase the technical skill, creativity and athletic ability that have helped advance modern personal watercraft freeriding. Spectators can expect an exciting display of aerial maneuvers, surf riding, precision control and individual riding styles performed along San Clemente’s iconic coastline.
