I gave some money to a homeless Veteran on the way into a store up in Reno, he was grateful. When i came out, there were 2 new homeless guys begging. I did not have any more cash. They yelled at me saying i had money to buy the stuff in the store and saw me give the Veteran money. They decided that they wanted to try to aggressively intimidate me for money or take my purchases. The Veteran walked back and stood between the as****es and my friend and I. He told them to leave us alone. They turned their aggressions towards him. He offered to give them what I had given him, but they pushed and punched him and wanted more than what he had. Luckily i had a CCW and i stepped in. The two as****es got the point that i wasn't messing around. They took off into the night. The Veteran turned towards me and apologized that he subjected me to this because if i hadn't given him money, i wouldn't have been placed in this situation. After making sure he was okay, (lip was bleeding from the punch he received). I told him to sit tight for a second and ran to the ATM. I withdrew some more money and gave it to him. We departed ways and about an hour later my friend and i were driving through that area again. Where i saw the homeless "Veteran" (i use quotes now because i don't believe s**t anymore) and the 2 as****es sitting curbside and drinking it up all chummy like. That was the last time I ever gave money to someone in need. It's sad that one lying f**k had to destroy my belief in helping a person in need.

On another note, Get your CCW. Not to be all badass, but to be able to defend yourself when situations like this happen and you need to defend yourself or those you love. I am glad however to see that there is hope for humanity, but he is probably only 5% of the honest homeless population.
