We competed in a 9-team field at the West Wetlands Invitational hosted by Cibola High School today. The 3AM departure time and the high heat and humidity did not stop us from logging several PRs and a respectable 4th place team finish for the boys. We had two Top 10 medalists today: Areisy Gallegos finished 4th in the girls varsity race and Tommy Craig finished 10th in the boys JV race. Leaving Mohave County to face larger schools was also good preparation for us for some of the bigger meets to come as the season goes on. Stay tuned!

On Wednesday we competed in the Lee Williams Invitational at Lee Williams High School. The course is hilly and challenging, yet most of our team ran either a personal best time, a season best time, or were within just a few seconds of a best time, improving on our performance on the relatively flat 5K course we ran just a week and a half ago! All of our hill work in practice paid off! Out of the 9 schools that competed, our boys finished in 4th place with a score that was not too far off from the top teams. The Top 12 individuals in each race earned medals. Medalists for the Knights included Areisy Gallegos (7th) and Cassidy Mangus (11th) in the girls race, and James Powell (4th) and Ryder Wilson (5th) in the boys race. Keep up the good work, Knights!

We are getting excited because our Half Mile Kids Run and 5K Fun Run are only 2 weeks away! Have you registered yet? Want to save 20%? Turn in your registration form with payment before next Friday's pre-registration deadline. Race day registration will also be available.

Calling all runners and walkers!

The 15th Annual Fighting Knights Cross Country Fun Run will take place on Saturday, September 26th.

*The Half Mile Kids Run for ages 12 and under will be at 7:00am.

*The 5K Fun Run for all ages will be at 7:15am.

Awards will be given to the top 50 finishers in each race.

The LHHS Marching Band will be performing during the event. You do not want to miss it!

All proceeds from the Fun Run benefit the LHHS Boys and Girls Cross Country Program. See the attached registration form for details. Save 20% on your entry fee by pre-registering!
