Saturday, June 11, 2016
Bald Mountain Recreation Area, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Let’s stop garlic mustard at its invading edge before it spreads farther into a high quality woodland. Meet at the East Graham Boat Launch parking lot on the north side of Predmore Road in the park’s North Unit. GPS coordinates: 42.786267, -83.190904 Please arrive on time as we may split up into different groups to “divide and conquer” and travel to other areas of the park.
Please remember to wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work including long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring drinking water and work gloves. We will have a small supply of work gloves on hand to loan out, so feel free to bring your own if you have them.
To make sure the workday hasn't been canceled due to inclement weather or for any other reason, please call 517-719-2285 the morning of the workday. You will either talk to me directly or listen to the outgoing voice mail message. If the workday has been canceled, a message saying so will be posted at least 2 hours before the start of a workday. If there is no cancellation message, the workday will go on as planned.
If you need to contact the workday leader with "day of" questions, please call Jenny at 248-736-1775 for Tues. June 7th and me at 517-719-2285 for Sat. June 11th. Hope to see you at the workdays,

Gleaners Food Bank is looking for volunteers for Kroger's Bringing Hope to the Table campaign in January! Join Kroger in helping Gleaners make a difference for families in our community.
Each Saturday and Sunday in January from January 9 through January 31, Kroger encourages shoppers to donate non-perishable food items to help feed hungry neighbors in their community. On January 23 and 24, Gleaners will be at Kroger stores in Oakland County.
Volunteer groups of four or more people are being sought to work three or four hour shifts at all Kroger locations. Volunteers will greet shoppers and encourage them to participate as well as accept, sort, package and load food donations. This is a great community service opportunity to help feed the hungry in our community.
Questions? Contact Julie at 313-923-3535, Ext. 245, or email [email protected]. You can also sign up for a shift by filling out the information below.
