The answer surprised a lot of folks! The reason why is probably because this isn’t your most typical case. Enter hyper mobility.
When I started personal training almost 14 years ago this was almost never talked about. Now, I have half a dozen clients that are hyper mobile and looking to get stronger.
You can’t train 100% the same way but you should absolutely lift when possible. The stronger you are, the stronger the joints can be too.

We are back for another summer of teen strength and conditioning training! This summer it will be a 10 week program with multiple time and day options INCLUDING A FREE FRIDAY class as well as an ONLINE option too. This program was insanely popular last summer so I wanted to offer additional ways for more to join.
The Summer Teen Strength & Conditioning Program is designed specifically for teens aged 13-15, focusing on building strength, confidence, and body awareness during their growth spurts. This 10-week program includes 2 sessions per week, with options for either Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday, plus an optional Friday session dedicated to injury prevention.
What’s Included:
- Access to 2 sessions per week, each lasting 50 minutes with a maximum of 4 participants for personalized instruction.
- Specialized classes covering basic weight lifting techniques and introductory Olympic barbell lifts.
This program is perfect for teens looking to gain a foundational understanding of strength training, preparing them for future gym access in high school. It provides a supportive environment to develop not only physical skills but also self-confidence.
Hurry as 3 people have already registered so only 13 spots remain!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, bonus moms, grandmas, soon to be moms, and those who wish to be moms. I knew my mom did a lot for my siblings and I but it wasn’t until I became a mom and that it made me love and appreciate her even more than I already do. She’s the super mom I strive to be.
Speaking of super moms, special shout out to my mom clients. Not only do you make time for yourself, but you do it while running the house and while some of you also work. You guys inspire me with your dedication to not just fitness, but also being the badass mom you are.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

Member Highlight: Meet Kevin.
If you wanted proof that consistency works, he’s it. Kevin joined KFIT in December 2024 and has since completed 200 classes. He’s not only stronger and faster, but he has also dramatically improved his range of motion. Kevin still has more goals he wants to accomplish and I know with his determination, he can get there. Way to go Kevin!

I’m terrible about posting on social media but here’s a peek into what’s been happing at the studio in the last week.
- We are wrapping up a 6 week progression in the small group strength classes and will start a new progression on Monday. That means testing some lifts and my members delivered! Way to go guys!
- A lot of A-ha moments this week with personal training clients. A client recently returned having being cleared from her doctor post car accident. We have slowly progressed but we loaded her back and it felt better than anything we’ve done. Backs tend to respond better with load but she was still very cautious because of her pain levels.
- Metrics are a great way to track progress. A client of mine is happy with their strength progression but really wants to hone in on their mobility so we spent part of their session measuring a few key areas where we will focus for the next 12 weeks. That doesn’t mean we stop strength, it’s just means slightly alter things while still lifting heavy.
- Guys. I’m finally in the sourdough cult. It’s amazing. Can’t stop. I’ve made bread, pancakes, pizza, buns, and plan to do so much more.
Want to join in on our small group Training classes to start the next 6 week progression? We start Monday 3/30! Openings in the 5am/6:15am and 5pm on Tuesday and Thursdays. First class is Free for locals!
