WildShiners

The Wild Shiners, a secretive Lake Wales Mardi Gras krewe, believe their clan originated in the Center of the Universe.

The Loyal Order of the Wild Shiners is a Krewe in the annual Lake Wales, FL Mardi Gras Parade and the local purveyors of Dionysian revelry by exposing the Center of the Universe at the Annual Black Light Ball. To date, no one has been able to disprove the claim. The exact number of Wild Shiners in existent today is not known, as they only surface ephemerally in small Skools around Mardi Gras time. It is possibly that they number in the thousands. For two decades the Shiners, have been throwing the wildly popular Wild Shiner Ball during the annual Mardi Gras celebration in Lake Wales. The Shiners were in the first Mardi Gras parade in 1984 and every parade since.

We are sad to report that arguably the wildest of the Wild Shiners has left the Skool for the Unfathomable Depths of the Universe.

"Barstool" was a True Shiner, the progenitor of the Manly Bulge, the reliable source of much vaporous inspiration.

We are sad to announce that our brother Carpule (Mark Estes) has moved on to his place in the Center of the Universe. Information on his celebration of life is below.

Carpule's memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16th at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, in Lake Wales, FL. 221 S Fourth Street, Lake Wales, FL 33853, 863-676-8578.

The memorial service begins at 2:00 PM, and his ashes will be placed in the church memorial garden, followed by a celebration of his life with all of the people he loved, and the music he adored, during a very special “wake/party” that he always wanted to celebrate his life, in the church parish hall.

Music will be played by a variety of his friends, and instead of flowers, and if you wish, donations will be gratefully accepted to benefit “Sandy’s Music Girls” which is a well known and loved, non-profit organization, that teaches girls and young women how to play Americana and Bluegrass music.

Shine On Brother!

Please say a prayer for Nozzule, his family and friends.
