This amazing family means so much to Lakeland Ice Arena and our Hockey Family! Coach Nick Nugent Jr is a professor at Florida Southern College and Coaches the Ice Hockey team along the side of Gilles Richard. His family is at the rink a few times a week for the passed 3 years! This beautiful family has become part of our Hockey family! Trip is the funniest most outgoing little boy I know. This news was heartbreaking and anything we can do as a HOCKEY COMMUNITY is needed!

What is the difference between House/Rec Leauge and Travel???
House/Recreational Leauge- is when you play for your Home Rink and play games/scrimmages against each other or different teams such as Red vs White team ect… Season is usually 6-12 weeks long. No travel is involved
Travel Leauge (SAHOF)- is when you travel and play other organizations at different rinks all over the state of Flordia! Example: Jr Mocs vs Jr Bulls
You are usually also required to do 2-3 tournaments out of state!
Travel season usually is 7-8 months long! August-March depends on how far your team makes it! Top teams then go to State Championships!
So it really depends on your family and player commitment to determine which is better for you! There are great players in both!
