Hello everyone!

My name is Marcos Oswald and I serve as the Executive Director for Empire Dance Company. I personally want to thank you for connecting with us through our new page, and becoming members of Empire Nation! I hope this page sees you well as we welcome you into our dance community!

As we begin to guide our journey through this page, I wanted to answer a few questions about our dance company!

What is Empire History?
Empire Dance Company was founded in the fall of 2019 on Southeastern University’s campus. In the begging game, the group only had 6 dancers and began practicing in hopes of finding possible performances on campus. Through some searching, Empire officially had its first practice in November growing to 12 dancers and 9 staff members. In March of 2020, Empire Dance Company Varsity had their first official dance performance for an SEU Basketball game. After the first performance, Empire had hoped to travel to churches, festivals, and more performances on campus. When the COVID 19 Pandemic hit and Southeastern closed its campus, Empire took a pause for the remainder of the semester. Though this time period was very difficult for a newly developed ministry, the team took this time to go back to the drawing board, develop, and pray about the next season. After summer and fall auditions, Empire eventually grew to 30 dancers & 20 staff members! Though this current season has been difficult with the remainders of COVID 19, Empire Dance Company continues to overcome obstacles through the loving community of its members, the consistent support of Empire Nation, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

What teams do you have?
We have 3 teams, Varsity is our hip-hop team, Reign is our Contemporary Pom team, and lastly, we have our Staff which oversees administration, public relations, discipleship, marketing, and media.

Any Upcoming events?
Yes! We will be performing for Southeastern University Basketball games, some local church events, First Fridays in Lakeland, and our Showcase on 4/24!

How do I get involved?
Empire Dance Company will be hosting auditions on Wednesday, Jan. 20th for both teams on Southeastern’s Campus. All auditionees must be over the age of 18+. Besides auditions, we regularly post staff opportunities on our page, and of course Empire Nation! Empire is also raising money for new uniforms! if you would like do donate please check our our gofundme me!
