THE GOLDEN CHILD MAKES HISTORY IN MEXICO RETURNING TO USA WITH WIBA INTERNATIONAL TITLE BELT.
Carisse "Taz" Brown of Lakeland, Florida recently made history in Tijuana returning to the USA with the WIBA International Lightweight Title Belt around her waist, becoming the first-ever champion in Mexico of its kind. The Golden Child, as her fans call her, went into this main-event battle on a War Boxing Promotions "SOLD OUT" card on July 17 against Monseratt Garcia, both having a 2-1-0 record.
Neither opponent wasted the first round to "feel out" each other. They both came to fight and gain immediate respect. The second round was filled with boxing and brawling from both boxers that appeared to leave them drained and winded. Cornered by former GBU World and ABO National champion, Laura "Lady Ram" Ramsey, Brown was given instructions and quickly adjusted in the third round to out-box Garcia with better foot work and head moment landing a powerful right hand to drop Garcia straight to the canvas.
Gaining confidence from round 3, Brown continued to solidify the match in rounds 4 & 5 with counter-punches while also testing Garcia's chin whenever she could. Going into the championship round, Brown felt to be ahead on the card, but did not take any chances in cruise mode. She began her onslaught of combinations and power punches to the body until she caught Garcia with another powerful right hand that left Garcia dazed and wobbling forward. Brown appeared too much for her opponent as Garcia stopped punching and began to hold on until the final bell. The Golden Child ended this battle with a unanimous decision; the first and only WIBA International Champion on
Mexico's soil. The remainder of the evening was spent with officIal fight photos taken by Nate Wren with the newly awarded Champ alongside the commission, elite honoraries, special guests, and newly-gained fans.

This was the Golden Child"s third trip to Tijuana. In Brown's first trip, she earned a first-round TKO against Claudia Vargas Ramirez. Unfortunately, Brown's second trip would end up with no action due to the initial opponent being in a car accident and the replacement opponent testing positive for COVID-19 once she arrived.
