To clarify and add meaning to what and who GEN1 GEN2 GEN3 is all about, see the following:
For me Polo Life, like life, spins (or spun) like a broken record. Some aspects are repeated every lifetime. The obvious ones are seasonal. The Lakeside Polo Club is a great example of this.
Historically I use the generational description. Where GEN1 was the beginning of the Hering legacy (1956). GEN2 was a restart in 1973, that is when I "sipped the Kool-Aide". Gen3 is roughly a change of guard (2012).
Note that the Polo was close to continuous with various clans and their significant participation. You will find the following list a weak and incomplete effort to capture a list of these clans, as they provide an interesting and educational glimpse into part of the history of the Lakeside Polo Club, as I knew it.
Sure, there are plenty of corrections and additions necessary, just start with a PM and I should get to it shortly.
