Day 1 of our Senior Flag Clinic got off to a bit of a bumpy start, with a combination of factors slowing down the fun. We still had our share of decent action. We began with our Agility Course, with the winners being Samuel Lewis and Max Yermalovich. We next reviewed pass patterns, as many still don't have them down pat yet. We then had our 1v1 competition, with Jaxon Fillion taking the prize after getting red-hot late in the contest. Our full-field game was one-sided, with Team Red easily beating the Blue Crew. Game MVPs included Travis Denault, Nathan Lewis, and Jameson Thompson, who really impressed the coaches today. We have much to cover over the next three days, so I hope they show up ready to learn, give their best efforts, and compete! - CJ

A great picture of two of the reasons our Junior clinic was amazing: Wyatt Yermalovich and his big bro, Max, who will take his MVP skills to our big Senior clinic this week! I hope this week's crew brings the attitude and effort that these guys brought!

Congrats to Callan Goodwin and his Bridgewater teammates who absolutely crushed the competition again, and are heading to Williamsport, PA, to represent Massachusetts in the Little League World Series. At CJS, we know Cal - great athlete, and more importantly, a great kid from a great family! Our thoughts and prayers are with him and the team as their incredible journey continues! - CJ

We had our Junior Summer Flag Clinic finale, and like the entire week, it was simply the best! Every kid contributed in many ways, from great defensive plays and big receptions, to super support of teammates and awesome attitudes all around! Our clinic MVPs were as follows:
A-line MVP: Max Yermalovich
B-line MVP: Obidiah Lewis
Excellent Effort: Flynn Bernat
Awesome Attitude: Kiah Lewis
We began with Touchdown King, with only one player earning the royal title - that would be King Hezekiah! We then played a quick tournament, before breaking into our full-field finale! It once again came down to the final play, where Max was able to get open for a deep touchdown to secure the win for Team Blue! An amazing end to a spectacular week! A few of these kids I will see in Seniors next week, and most I will see on August 29th, as we kick off our 18th season of our Fall Flag Football league! Once again, congrats to all for one of the best overall weeks in memory! Sincerely, CJ

Day 3 of our Junior Flag Summer Clinic featured the passing game, where these young players gave throwing the football in competitive situations a shot. They learned grip, foot work, and follow-through. Ethan Wilga and Brady Boswell were our Stationary throw-and-catch champs, while Max Yermalovich and Obidiah Lewis won the kid-QB 2v2 competition! We then had a full length, full field game, that was simply fantastic and came right down to the wire! On the game's final play, Team Red's Will Dube caught a long ball in coverage at the goal line and held on for the win! Some special shoutouts go out to Flynn Bernat, Kiah Lewis, Brady, and Max, though every kid had their share of big plays! Our finale is tomorrow, and I will be sad as this has been one of the best groups I have worked with in a very long time - they compete hard, they are skilled, they are kind to each other, and they are having fun! Let's see if they finish strong, and who will walk away winners!-CJ

Day 2 of Junior Flag Clinic featured the kicking game. We reviewed the basics of both kicking and punting, then practiced for 15 minutes before we broke into our competitions. Our finalists in both were William Dube, Hans LeBeau, Max Yermalovich, and Ethan Wilga, with Will, Hans, and Ethan earning trips to the Prize Bucket for finishing in the top 2! We then introduced 3 more patterns, known as "double moves," then picked two teams to practice all the pass routes. We finished with a full-field game, which came down to the wire. Wyatt Lopes was able to stop Daniel Anderson from getting a touchdown on the final play to give Team Red the win. Our shoutout of the day goes to Obi Lewis, who had a fantastic day all around! Tomorrow, we will introduce the quarterback position, and also play of variety of contest and games. Can't wait! - CJ

We had an absolutely fantastic start to our Junior Summer Flag Clinic! This great group of kids began with the Agility Course, with Max Yermalovich taking first place! We moved on to receiving skills, teaching hand position and our five basic patterns, and they all "caught" on quickly, allowing us to have our 1v1 tournament. Max earned the #1 seed, but the #2 seed, Kiah Lewis, ended up beating him in the finals of a well-played competition. We finished with a full-field game, that went back and forth, with Team Red holding on to the victory. The coaching staff was very impressed with the whole group, especially with a number of brand new players! Finally, special shout-outs go out to Will Dube and Brady Boswell, who absolutely crushed it in our finale. We get to do it all again tomorrow, with the kicking game as our point of emphasis, as well as review of patterns, a tournament, and finally a full-field game. Today was truly so fun, so I can't wait! - CJ

CJS athlete Callan Goodwin, who plays in both our flag and basketball programs, as well as playing some very competitive ice hockey, is now crushing it with his Bridgewater buddies as they make a run at the Little League World Series! We at CJS wish him and his teammates all the best, and will hope to catch them on ESPN! -CJ
