Week 4 of our Fall Flag League featured more game action for the Juniors, as we start getting some separation in the standings. The Lions roared again, while the Eagles stayed just out of reach of the Panthers. JUNIOR stars included Christian Stapleton and Owen Nardi for the Eagles, Sam Brightman for the Panthers, Wyatt Buonocore for the Lions, and Obi Lewis for the Saints.

The coaches have made trades in both JUNIORS and STARTERS. Please check your emails, and if your kid was traded, please bring their clean jersey to get your kid's new jersey and new team! -STARTERS were divided into TENTATIVE teams, and continued to work on their skills. We had some half-field 1v1 games, then finished with TEAM TOUCHDOWN, with the Sachems winning, earning a standings point and a trip to the Prize Bucket! Week 4 of Senior Fall Flag League featured a back-and-forth affair on Field 2, with the Packers coming from behind, then holding on for the win! The Navy shut down the Lightning, to jump into a critical top 2 seed! The Vipers picked up their first win of the season, and jumped into the final playoff seed for now. The Cats couldn't catch the high-flying Cards. Team MVPs in victory included Tyrus Araujo, Emmet Takacs, Nick Voci, and Levi Dennis. Shout-outs in defeat go out to Mason Ward, Jaxon Fillion, Connor Osenkowski, Jack Teves, and William Dube. We still have 13 slots available in our amazingly fun Veteran's Day 3v3 Tournament, so shoot me an email if interested - it's 2 hours of non-stop flag action, with the tired winners earning hardware! Juniors kicked off their regular season today, getting their jerseys, practicing, and playing their first game. The Saints and the Lions were both impressive today, and the players receiving shoutouts in victory were Sean Pillai and Grayson Rose. Stars in defeat were Christian Stapleton and Collin Carreau. STARTERS are getting closer to being drafted onto teams, as they were divided into skill groups and continued to work on running patterns and defending. We, of course, finished with Team TD, where Team Red earned a trip to the Prize Bucket! Starters who caught the coaches' eyes today included Cooper Hernandez, Finn Mason, Johnny Hogan, Carson Bellar, and Matthew Campbell. We will have them sorted onto tentative teams next week, and then, on Week 5, the actual teams will be set and games will begin. Week 3 featured three really close games, with the Lightning and Packers at the top as the only two undefeated teams remaining. Stars in their team's wins included Logan Blowers, Daniel DeLisle, Nathan Lewis, Caroline Hoffman, Cay-Cay Rasar, Travis Denault,and Billy Berry. Players recognized in defeat were Travis Teves, Tyrus Araujo, Noah Ramos, Benjamin Moniz, Nolan Lord, and Zach Amaral. THE STARTERS continued to learn more about flag football, with an emphasis on taking a handoff the right way, and getting downfield with a quickness! They had hand-off running play races, and then continued to learn our 3 basic pass patterns - the CURL, the OUT, and the SLANT! They also worked on defending these routes. We finished with a kid-favorite, Team Touchdown, and it came down to the wire! Some kids that caught our eye today included Finn Mason (who made a series of moves during Team TD that had the crowd roaring!), Penelope Hogan (who chased down an opponent who seemed to have an easy score!), Michael Ryan (who seems to ALWAYS grab flags!), and Crew Smith, who held on tight to the football, and split the defense by running right down the middle for a score! We will have all kinds of drills, skills and practice over the next two weeks, and after week 4, we will split them into hopefully balanced teams! It was fun today for sure!-CJ

The Juniors had their final day of ratings, and teams have now been selected! They did a great job within their leveled groupings, but the coaches would like to SHOUT-OUT a few players that really caught their eye: Jimmy Christoforo, Ethan Casey, Sullivan Amaral, Peter Walsh, Matt Adams, Flynn Bernat, and Theo Ross. With teams tentatively set (we reserve the right to make trades), they will get their jerseys next week, and we ask that they WEAR THEM EVERY WEEK, and if the 'laundry thief' has a hold of it, please have them wear their team's colors. That helps us so much, and speeds things up for everyone. I can't wait to see how it goes next week, when the kids get to have full-field games, after some skill review-let's go!!!

Senior Fall Flag League kicked off our regular season today, with a few close games, and a couple not so close. The Lightning and Packers have come roaring out of the gate, while both the Cardinals and Wildcats were also able to walk away winners. Today shout-outs in team victories go out to Sebastian Lopes, Henry Fredette, Cay Rasar, and Jaxon Fillion. Players who earned recognition in defeat were Samantha Berry, Jake Martin, Cam Besse, and Aidan Kelly, who turned in an incredible performance! You can keep track of the standings on our website, and also remember that EVERY SCORE OR STOP MATTERS, as we use a plus/minus system to determine standings and break ties. It was a solid first week of action, but I know we can get better, and we will! Also, if your kid is in grades 4th-7th and can't get enough flag, they can still join our Monday Night Flag edition - 7 weeks of pure action, games and fun, and it starts this Monday- hope to hear from you soon! - CJ
