Being “cleared to exercise” is really the starting line for rehab and recovery. This phase is about rebuilding from the inside out so you can *eventually* return to the activities you love, stronger and more supported.
Phase 1 is all about reconnecting with your body:

✔️ Coordinating breath, core, and pelvic floor
✔️ Practicing intentional, mindful movement that supports everyday life

Labor training is a great technique to prepare your body for the flow and rhythm of birth. During this session we use exercise intervals to mimic labor contractions and rest time.

This functional exercise directly mimics real-life situations like:
✨Getting up off the floor after playing with your kids
✨Recovering from a fall
✨Moving quickly from low positions
✨Standing up when your hands are full (pretty much all of the time as a mom!)
It combines strength, balance, coordination, and mobility all in one. Everything that we need to feel strong during this season.

Side lunges
Including these types of movements will ensure that you work all three planes of motion (sagital, transverse and frontal). When you do this during pregnancy it strengthens your body for everyday moves, improves mobility and reduces the risk of injury as your body is better prepared anything that comes your way.

Workout tips for busy mamas 💪🏼
✨Total body is where it’s at
As a busy mom of two I find total body workouts to be the most efficient as I can get the most out of my routine in a short amount of time.
✨Stick to the basics
I also like to stick to the basics. No fancy moves just exercises that I know will help me with everyday moves and that I can progress over time. For example in this workout I did sumo squats, pull ups, lunges, rear flys, push ups, and tricep extensions. All of these are moves that can be done with minimal equipment and that most know people know how to do.
✨No perfect workout time
Depending on the season of life you’re in, you have to show up whether it’s for 5 min or 50. The goal is to simply move and get in the habit of it even when you’re not feeling it. Just rolling out your mat is a start.
Keep moving and take care of your body + mind.
