Lakewood Jiu Jitsu Academy has been invited to present a lecture on use-of-force in police restraint and a demonstration of Gracie Jiu-jitsu's SafeWrap procedure at the 2026 Academy of Criminal Justice Science annual conference in Philadelphia, PA. This presentation will inform attendees about the benefits of jiu-jitsu based methods in police training with emphasis on the innovations of SafeWrap as an alternative to prone restraint. For those who are attending ACJS this year, the presentation will be on Thursday, March 5, at 8am in room 406.

Even grabbing an someone's neck can cause a person to turn their back to the opponent and be exposed to undefendable attacks. The ground is only a good place to be if you know what you are doing! Go to class and train!
