✨ SEPTEMBER SPECIAL: MINERALS & METALS TEST ✨

When we think about supporting our health, we often jump straight to supplements, hormones, gut health, or stress. But there’s another piece that can easily get overlooked: your minerals.

Minerals are foundational. Your body relies on them for energy production, muscle and nerve function, hydration, sleep, mood, and many other everyday processes. And it’s not only about whether you have enough. The balance between minerals matters.

The Mineral & Metals Test (HTMA) uses a small, at-home hair sample to look at:

⚡ Essential minerals such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, zinc, copper, and more
⚖️ Mineral ratios and patterns that can provide insight into mineral balance and patterns associated with physiological stress
🔬 Heavy and toxic metals including lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, aluminum and others
🌿 Your bigger wellness picture, helping us identify areas where your body may benefit from additional nutritional and lifestyle support

We’re exposed to trace amounts of metals through our environment, food, water and various everyday products. HTMA gives us another tool for looking at these elements alongside your mineral patterns.

💗 SEPTEMBER SPECIAL: $185

Your package includes the at-home Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, your complete results, a 30-minute one-on-one lab review, and personalized supplement and wellness recommendations based on your results.

Instead of guessing which minerals or supplements your body may need, we can use your results to hone into what you actually need.

Your minerals are part of your foundation. Let’s see what yours have to say. 💗

🛑 High Cholesterol Isn’t Just About What You Eat

When cholesterol comes back high, one of the first things people think is, “I need to stop eating eggs and fatty foods.”

But cholesterol is much more complex than that.

Your body actually makes most of the cholesterol it uses, primarily in the liver. And we NEED cholesterol. It helps build cell membranes, make hormones and bile acids, and supports vitamin D production.

So what else can influence your cholesterol levels?

🫀 Liver & Metabolic Health
Your liver is central to cholesterol regulation. It produces cholesterol and helps remove LDL particles from your bloodstream. Insulin resistance, metabolic dysfunction and fatty liver disease can all affect the way your body handles lipids.

🦠 Gut Health
Your gut microbiome interacts with bile acids and plays a role in cholesterol and lipid metabolism. Gut dysbiosis may influence cholesterol absorption, inflammation and metabolic signaling.

🦋 Thyroid Function
Thyroid hormones help regulate cholesterol metabolism. When thyroid function is low, LDL cholesterol can increase.

🥑 Nutrition
What you eat still matters, but dietary cholesterol is only one part of the picture. For many people, saturated and trans fats have a greater impact on LDL than cholesterol-containing foods themselves. Fiber, overall diet quality and metabolic health matter too.

🏃‍♀️ Movement
Regular physical activity can positively influence triglycerides, HDL, insulin sensitivity and overall lipid metabolism.

😴 Stress & Sleep
Chronic stress and inadequate sleep can affect hormonal and metabolic pathways associated with cardiovascular health and lipid metabolism.

🌸 Hormonal Shifts & Perimenopause
Cholesterol levels can change during the menopause transition. As estrogen fluctuates and eventually declines, LDL, triglycerides and ApoB may increase, while changes in body composition and insulin sensitivity can further affect lipid metabolism. This is one reason some women notice their cholesterol numbers changing in their 40s and 50s even without major changes to their diet.

🧬 Genetics
Some people may be more genetically predisposed to produce more cholesterol or have difficulty clearing LDL particles from the bloodstream.

✨ The takeaway:
High cholesterol isn’t automatically a sign that you’re eating too much cholesterol.

Instead of focusing on one food or one number, look at the whole picture: liver and metabolic health, gut health, thyroid function, nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, and genetics.

Cholesterol isn’t something your body accidentally makes. We need it. It’s important to understand why your levels are elevated and the risk to your health it may pose.

Your body is always telling you something… but are you listening? 👀

In my last post, I talked about how symptoms can be your body’s way of asking for support.

So what might those signals look like?

✨ Feeling tired even after a full night of sleep
✨ Waking up throughout the night
✨ Bloating or changes in digestion
✨ Energy crashes or constant cravings
✨ Feeling more stressed or overwhelmed than usual
✨ Changes in your skin, mood, or cycle
✨ Just feeling like something is “off”

One symptom doesn’t necessarily tell us exactly what’s going on. But when symptoms become frequent or start showing up together, they’re worth paying attention to.

Instead of only trying to quiet the symptom, get curious about the bigger picture.

How are you sleeping?
Are you nourishing your body well?
How is your digestion?
Are you getting the vitamins and minerals you need?
What does your daily stress load look like?

Sometimes the first step toward feeling better is simply learning to listen to what your body has been trying to tell you. 🤍

09/03/2026

Your body is always communicating with you. Are you listening?

Often, your body starts giving you signs and signals before your mind realizes something is off.

Fatigue.
Poor sleep.
Digestive changes.
Mood shifts.
Low energy.
Headaches.
Cravings.
Feeling stressed, wired, or just not like yourself.

Symptoms aren’t always something to simply push through or cover up. Sometimes they’re your body’s way of saying, “I need support.”

Instead of only asking, “How do I make this symptom go away?” try asking:

What might my body be trying to tell me?

Your symptoms can be clues. Looking at your nutrition, stress, sleep, digestion, movement, lifestyle, and nutrient status can help you start connecting the dots.

Listen to your body. Get curious about the signals. And support it from the foundation up. 🤍

✨ FUN FACT: Your gut and brain are constantly communicating!

Your gut has its own nervous system, called the enteric nervous system, with hundreds of millions of nerve cells.

Through the gut-brain axis, your gut and brain communicate using pathways that include the vagus nerve, hormones, immune signals, and more.

That’s one reason stress, mood, digestion, and appetite can all influence one another.

Your body doesn’t work as a bunch of separate systems. It’s all connected.

Monday Reminder:

You don’t need to overhaul your whole life this week.

Start with the basics your body needs every single day:

💧 Hydrate
🥩 Prioritize protein + whole foods
☀️ Get outside
🚶‍♀️ Move your body
😴 Protect your sleep
🧘‍♀️ Give your nervous system a few quiet moments
🤍 Stop expecting perfection

Health isn’t built from one perfect Monday.

It’s built from the small things you do consistently, even during the busy weeks.

Pick one thing you want to be intentional about this week. What is it?

Finally, let’s talk about “ZERO SUGAR”

We’ve talked about added sugar, where it’s hiding, and how quickly it can add up for kids.

But there’s one more label I want you to pay attention to:

ZERO SUGAR.

“Zero sugar” doesn’t necessarily mean nothing sweet has been added. Often, the sugar has simply been replaced with another type of sweetener.

Look at the ingredient list and you may find:

• Sucralose
• Aspartame
• Acesulfame potassium (Ace-K)
• Saccharin
• Stevia
• Monk fruit
• Erythritol
• Xylitol
• Sorbitol
• Maltitol

Some of these sweeteners are hundreds of times sweeter than table sugar, some a better choice than others, such as Monk Fruit or Stevia Leaf.

While they may reduce added sugar and don’t all affect the body the same way regular sugar does, that doesn’t automatically make a “zero sugar” product a healthier everyday choice.

Research has raised questions about frequent nonnutritive sweetener consumption and its potential effects on:

• Gut microbiome composition
• Glucose regulation and insulin sensitivity
• Appetite and taste preferences
• Weight and metabolic health
• Inflammatory pathways

Sugar alcohols like sorbitol, maltitol and xylitol can also cause bloating, gas and diarrhea, especially in larger amounts.

So instead of constantly trying to find something manufactured to replace sugar, let’s get back to something much simpler:

REAL FOOD. ❤️

Fruit. Vegetables. Eggs. Meat. Cheese. Plain yogurt. Nuts. Seeds. Whole-food carbohydrates.

Does that mean your child can never have something packaged?

Of course not.

Life is busy. We’re constantly on the go. Between work, school, practices, games and activities, grabbing something quick is often way more convenient.

I get it.

This isn’t about perfection.

It’s about being aware.

Turn the package over. Read the ingredients. Know what’s actually replacing the sugar in that “ZERO SUGAR” product.

When you have the choice, choose real, minimally processed foods as much as possible.

You don’t have to fear food.

Just be informed about what you’re feeding your family.

🍎 ADDED SUGAR + KIDS + IMMUNE HEALTH

School is almost back in session…which also means kids are about to be exposed to a whole lot more germs. 🦠

So while we’re talking about added sugar, let’s talk about something else it affects:

The immune system.

Our immune system relies on adequate nutrition, sleep, movement and many different vitamins and minerals to function properly.

While glucose is necessary for our cells, including immune cells, consistently consuming excessive amounts of added sugar isn’t doing our kids’ (or our) immune health any favors.

Research has shown that high blood sugar can impair certain functions of the innate immune system, including the activity of neutrophils, which are white blood cells that help the body respond to outside invaders.

When a child’s diet is filled with sugary drinks, candy, sweetened snacks and highly processed foods, those foods can begin to displace the nutrient-dense foods their growing bodies need to help fight illness.

Try to focus on giving their bodies

🍓 Colorful fruits + vegetables
🥚 Quality protein
🥑 Healthy fats
🥕 Fiber-rich whole foods
💧 Plenty of water
😴 Consistent, quality sleep
🏃 Daily movement + outdoor time

With school starting and exposure to germs increasing, this is a great time to focus on supporting their bodies from the inside out.

Treats can absolutely have a place.

But our everyday choices should provide kids with the protein, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and other nutrients their immune systems need to do their jobs.

We can’t prevent every germ our kids encounter, but we can give their bodies a strong nutritional foundation to work with. ❤️
