Congratulations goes out to Richard Dziekan and Jason Ruggiero on being selected to the 2026 NYSPHSAA State Championship! Both of these officials were well deserving of this honor and both were selected to work championship games in the tournament. They represented themselves as well as the association extremely well!

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer. It is a day set aside to remember the Americans who never returned home after serving our nation.

While softball fields across our communities bring people together through competition, teamwork, and tradition, we recognize that those opportunities exist because generations of service members defended the freedoms we enjoy every day.

The members of the Niagara Frontier Board of High School Softball Officials extend our deepest gratitude and respect to the fallen heroes and to the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

Today, we honor sacrifice. We honor courage. And we remember those who gave everything for our country.

May their legacy never be forgotten.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the incredible mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures who make high school softball possible every single day!

Today, the Niagara Frontier Board of High School Softball Officials would like to recognize the women who give their time, support, guidance, and love to our athletes both on and off the field.

To the moms in the stands cheering through every inning, the coaches teaching lessons that go far beyond softball, and especially the mothers within our officiating community, thank you for the example you set for the next generation.

Every practice, every ride home, every word of encouragement, and every lesson in sportsmanship helps shape the future women of our communities. The young athletes on today’s fields are learning confidence, resilience, leadership, respect, and determination from the women who lead them.

You are not only helping build better athletes, you are helping build the next generation of strong mothers, leaders, mentors, and role models.

From all of us at the Niagara Frontier Board of High School Softball Officials, thank you for everything you do for the game and for the generations that follow!

Our mentors help our new officials throughout their first seasons. All of our new officials completed their exam to become registered as an official. They were able to work with their mentor to talk through the questions. As they go through their first season mentors will be an excellent resource to guide them and help them grow.

Congratulations to all of our new members who have passed the NYS Exam!

Our new officials have been putting in the work to get ready for the season! We have had sessions on the rules in the classroom as well as mechanics classes in the gym. We have added 15 new umpires to our ranks and are looking forward to seeing how they progress when they hit the field.

Huge shoutout to Jamie Bannister and the young ladies from Amherst Lightning for coming out and working with our new offickals. It was great to see some live pitching and to be able to call some balls and strikes! Looking forward to seeing this group take the field this high school season!

Another great group of new officials have joined the ranks with our association. We are looking forward to g forward to working with them and getting them ready to take the field!
