That's an important distinction for kids to learn.

A coach saying, “Try it this way,” isn't saying you aren't good at something.

It means someone believes you're capable of getting better. 💪

Learning to receive feedback, make an adjustment, and try again is a skill that reaches far beyond the mat.

The Student Who Worries Us Isn't Always The One Struggling With A Technique.

Sometimes It's The Student Who's Afraid To Try Because They Might Get It Wrong.

Those kids may hang back, watch everyone else first, or want to know exactly what to do before they'll attempt anything.

So sometimes our goal as coaches isn't “get it right.”

It's simply: Try.

Then try again.

When kids learn that making a mistake is safe, they become a lot more willing to learn. ❤️
