Positions available at LOTRA: WINTER BARN GROUNDSKEEPER AND CHUTE CLEANUP:

The winter groundskeeper and cattle chute cleanup contracts are open for anyone to apply. They could be positions where it is shared by two people or one person. Let Paula McCormick (307-851-1126) know if you are interested and we’ll get the job description out to you.
AVAILABLE: Winter Groundskeeper Contract, November 1 thru April 30. It can be for one person, or job-shared between 2 people, if desired. We want to have the arena groomed 7 days per week, like last winter. Pay/Month is $606. Six- Month Contract is $3,640, plus free single barn membership.
AVAILABLE: Cattle Chute Manure Cleanup Contract, November 1 through March 31. Includes after Tuesday/Thursday roping practices and nine Saturday Memorial Team Roping Jackpots. Pay is $204/month. It can be job-shared between 2 people, if desired, or combined with Winter Groundskeeper Contract. Free single barn membership included.

Lander 3rd graders enjoyed the Popo Agie Conservation District's annual Ag Expo, held at LOTRA's barn on Oct. 15.

Thanks to all who came to our Obstacle/Trail Practice, and to those who helped set up and take down. Kudos to Lee & Nancy Williams who built and donated the new arched bridge to our collection, and to Peggy Bartlett who is letting us use her obstacles for the winter. Another thanks to John Gazso who built our flat bridge, and helped repair other items. It was a good day of learning.

LOTRA members: Maintenance and Sunday event coming up this week at the LOTRA barn.
Friday, October 16: We plan to power wash portions of the inside of the barn between 1-5. The barn is open to ride, but be aware there will be spraying water, loud sounds and hoses. Please be considerate as Kenan is working to prepare the barn for the winter.

Sunday, Oct. 18: Obstacle/Trail Practice, Sunday 1-4 pm, Contact Paula McCormick ([email protected], 307-851-1126) LOTRA members free. Non-LOTRA attendees: $30/person.

Thank Kelly Winfield for welding several new roping chute panels this week.
Thank John Gazso for putting in new gates, purchased by our LOR Foundation grant.
We are figuring out the new added sand, and how much to water it to keep down the dust but avoid the drain spots.

LOTRA members: Some maintenance and events coming up this week at the LOTRA barn.

Monday, Oct. 12: Kelly Winfield will be working on welding more panels on the roping chutes. So there will be some noise and grinding going on.

Thursday, Oct. 15: Barn Closure/Reservation Notification: The barn has been reserved for Thursday, October 15 to the Popo Agie Conservation District for their annual Ag Expo day for 3rd graders from 8-1.

Friday, October 16: We plan to power wash portions of the inside of the barn. Time yet to be determined.
