I had a good time yesterday with Becky and Matt on an AM Channel Cat Trip. They managed to boat 16 up to 21.5". We caught them all on the Suddent Impact System we utizie. The floating grass was a major pain and took away a lot of the key areas I like to fish. I will be back out on a Bass Trip on Tuesday but may get some Flathead Scouting in before that trip. I will keep you posted.

I got the boat back today from having the annual service done on it so Ed and I hit the water for about 1.5 hours. We landed 12 Smallies and lost a few more. The floating grass was a pain. The largest was 17.25" and we caught them on the Mimic Thunder Dog and the F**t Premium Swim bait. Tony had a PM Trip today and they boated 20+ up to 19.5" and they caught them primarily on Soft Jerkbaits and Chatterbaits. I will be out tomorrow chasing Channel Cats and I will keep you posted.

Tony ran a couple trips while I was in Alaska. The bite was spotty but they managed to average about 28 Bass per trip. and each trip produced fish over 18". They mainly caught them on Soft Jerkbaits, Top Water and Chatter Baits. The floating grass continues to be an issue but we do have plenty of water in the river to get around. I hope to get my boat back from service today and be back on the water on Friday. I will keep you posted.

I just returned from my annual trip to Alaska. We had another successful trip and I hope to get a video up soon. We brought back Halibut and Rock Fish Fillets. I could up some of both yesterday and it was great. This trip was at Island Point Lodge again in Petersburg Alaska and it is a self guided tour. It is much differnet than the old trips we used to take to the Kenai River but it is still very productive and the scenery is majestic. I look forward to our trip next May. That time of year it is all about the Halibut and Crabs. Email me if you would like to learn more about our Alaska Trip. # ❤️

I am pleased to announce that Bass Pro has renewed my Pro Staff Agreement for another year. In an industry that has seen a lot of buy outs and take overs of numerous large corporations, Bass Pro has stood strong and continued to expand. Johnny Morris and his company have donated many millions of dollars to conservation efforts and they support a lot of good programs in the local communities as well. As I approach my 20th year of affiliation with them I am as proud now of my relationship with them as I was when I first started. I look forward to another great year of working with them and look forward to starting store visits this fall. If there is a particular fishing topic you would like to see a seminar on at the Harrisburg Bass Pro Store, please drop me a line and I will see if we can arrange something. I hope you will support Bass Pro and all there conservation efforts and hope to see you at the store. Thank you for your support of myself and Koinonia all these many years.

Wow, I sure did get surprised this morning while on a Catfish Trip. Prior to the trip the weather app showed about a 15% chance of showers but thunderstorms would roll in about 1:00 PM. At approximately 8:45 AM we got hammered with heavy rain and ligthing. We ran to an island and took shelter for about 45 minutes. There was a lot of floating grass but we still managed to salvage the day with 20+ Channel Cats up to 22". We caught them all on the Sudden Impact system we utilize. The clients to 19 fish home for a fish fry. I wll be dropping off the boat this week for service and will not be on the water for a week or so. #

Yesterday I got to do another father/son outing and it was a great time. Zach and his son Zach Jr. came out to cath some Channel Cats with us. The river was rising rapidly and getting dirty with a lot of floating debris. The fish we were on relocated but it did not take long to find them with the system we utilize and the guys ended up with 20+ Channel Cats. Dad had a nice 24.5" fish as his big one but Jr. beat him with a 26.5" fish that weighed in at 7.36 #. As usual we utilized our Sudden Impact System to put fish in the boat. I will try to get the video up in the near future. With the river conditions and weather forecast, we canceled our bass trip for today. The boat goes in for the annual service next week so I will probably not be on the river for awhile but you may see some fish post from a remote location. I will keep you posted.

Today John brought his daughters Ashley and Lindsey out for an 8 hour Channel Cat Trip. The bite was not easy but they landed 36 and they had excellent quality. Lindsey caught one that was 24.5" long and Ashley got one that was 28.5" long and weighed 8.02 #. The wind was out of the south and made boat control very difficult even with utilizing two anchors. As usual, we caught them all with our Sudden Impact System. I am off until Tuesday morning and then we will be back out chasing Channel Cats and I will keep you posted. Have a Blessed Lords Day tomorrow.
