Hi, for those of you who live in Lackawaxen who have always wanted to run or walk a 5k race, we are starting a free training group that meets in the park at Lackawaxen each Saturday at 10am starting January 7.

You'll receive professional training advice and also obtain a free entry to the Two Rivers 5k on either March 25 or 26, 2023!

Lackawaxen Run or Walk Training Program

Have you always wanted to run or walk a 5k race but didn’t know where to start or just couldn’t motivate yourself? The opportunity to run or walk a 5k is now happening for Lackawaxen Township residents!

This year, the Two Rivers Running Festival is offering Lackawaxen Township residents the opportunity to train to be ready to run or walk a 5k at the Two Rivers event on March 25, 2023 in Lackawaxen. The training program and race entry is free to you! The only requirement is that you are a resident of Lackawaxen Township.

What’s included in this free training program:

**weekly training every Saturday at 10 am at Veterans’ Memorial Park on Scenic Drive, Lackawaxen across from the Lackawaxen Fire Department from January 7, 2023 – March 18, 2023

**written training programs based on your goal for the 5k. It will offer a weekly training program showing what you will need to do to accomplish your goal on race day! There will be both running and walking groups every Saturday.

**free entry into the Two Rivers 5k on March 25, 2023 for 25 residents of Lackawaxen Township. You’ll receive all the goodies: a shirt, a finisher’s medal, post-race food and a fun time!

**you’ll learn race day strategies for both prerace and the actual event based on your goal

The training programs are led by experienced runners and walkers, Mark Hughes and Courtney Peterson. Mark is a former resident of Lackawaxen who now directs the Two Rivers Running Festival and Courtney is a Lackawaxen resident.

Hi Everybody,

We are pleased to announce our 2023 Event Schedule!

We have 9 events scheduled for 2023. All events will offer a 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon option. Five of the 9 events will have the option to run a marathon as well. All marathon courses are certified as Boston Qualifiers.

Registration is open for all of our 2023 events.

Some of the new ideas we are implmenting this year are:

**a Non-Binary Category that will have overall and age group awards for all events

**All athletes who complete their first half marathon or marathon will receive a commemorative plaque along with their finisher's medal

We are looking forward to a great 2023 running year.
