We have some bittersweet news to share today. At the end of this month, Amanda and her family are moving to Connecticut🥹 While we are sad to see her hang up the mic after seven years, we wish Amanda, Sal, and Gia all the best on their next chapter back in CT!

Oh, the fun we’ve had these past seven years! Amanda joined our team just before Covid. She immediately made the pivot with us and hopped into online classes as a part of our very special “quaranTEAM”. From the classes, to the parties, the special occasions (hello, Gia💕), we’ve had SO. MUCH. FUN. Thank you for all the laughs and all the love. You will be missed and forever have a home here at barre3 Newtown. 🧡👯‍♀️🥂

We don’t string together random moves just to make you sweat. Our 45- and 60-minute classes follow an intentional, mind-body sequence designed to build strength, boost stamina, and leave you feeling centered rather than spent.

01 / Opening Breaths + Warm-Up: We start by taking deep, intentional breaths and tuning into the body—waking up the joints and anchoring your focus.

Your core is more than your abs, it’s the center of your strength, stability, and control. When we engage through the mid core, we create support for the entire body and move with more intention in every posture.

✨ Think: ribs knit in, pelvis neutral, and your deepest core muscles draw in and around your spine.

Sitting still can look like you’re doing nothing, but beneath the surface, breathwork is one of the most active, powerful things you can do for your body. (It’s often why we call it the most important part of class.)

We weave diaphragmatic breathing and focus on the mind-body connection all throughout class. Because physical effort is only half the equation. The real growth happens when you integrate that effort.

6 ways to transition into fall ⬇

The end of summer is an invitation to pause, and the start of fall is an opportunity to return to routine.

If your nervous system is feeling spent after summer’s busy schedule, the shift into autumn can be a moment to embrace a slower, more grounded pace.

A few intentional choices to bring you back to center:

—Build a consistent fitness routine instead of glorifying intensity. Remember: your body needs space to restore and rebuild.
—Swap a scroll for a walk. Leave your phone in your pocket (bonus points if you leave it at home). Let your mind wander without a screen.
—Savor a slow and quiet morning. Ditch the temptation to rush. Take the time to tune in before the world catches up with you.
—Set a seasonal intention. Fall is a natural time for fresh starts. Ask yourself: How do I want to feel as the weather cools? What boundaries will protect my energy?
—Pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read for months. Dedicate 20 quiet minutes to completely immersing yourself in a story that has nothing to do with your to-do list.
