Creating the finest bats that I can, using my own two hands. I'm basically the Ollivander of baseball bats. Jarema Batworks was founded by accident, really.
Your source for custom 1860s-style bats for vintage base ball! I was in the early stages of starting a vintage base ball team (yes, "base ball" was two words in the 1860s), and trying to source the equipment. I found uniforms, hats, bases, balls, but heck if I could find a good source for vintage bats! The biggest problem was that any that I tracked down had these big logos stamped on the side - N
OT authentic for vintage ball. At that point, I resolved to simply make the team's bats myself. I've always been the creative sort, and wood is a compelling medium, so on January 28th, 2021, I took a leap and bought a wood lathe. After clearing out the cistern in our basement and building a work space, I got started making test bats. On my 5th attempt, I shocked myself with how well it turned out. It was easily the finest thing I had ever created. In fact, it was exactly the sort of thing I had been trying to purchase before. That thought kept prodding my brain as I continued to run tests with paints, coats, and techniques. Once I worked out my processes and felt that I could create bats of a consistent high quality in a reasonable amount of time, I decided to take another leap and start selling them with custom paint designs. Jarema Batworks continues to create bats by hand, with only an inconspicuous stamp on the end of the k**b.
