The Pole Barn

After taking a year off competing, The Pole Barn returned to PSO in Chicago Memorial Weekend and what a memorable weekend it was!!! We had a great comp team this season with many new friends as well as some returning ones. One of the things I love about our studio is the unmatched support that all of our students and instructors provide with each other. Our comp team is no different. No matter your level or your ability, the trust and belief in each other that is built in each practice session is unmeasurable. This comp team cheered each other on from day one and bonds were built. We laughed, we cried, we grew and we changed each other for the better. We had 3 brand new competitors and 2 OGs that competed this weekend and those on the team that are waiting until November came to support and volunteer. You all made me so proud and left it all on the stage. Putting yourself out in front of your peers to be judged is beyond difficult but you did it!! Congrats to you all and .fairy for doing the thing and killing it!!! Thank you for trusting the process and pouring your heart and soul into your pieces. You are why I do this 🩷

Keep an eye out for our upcoming invert intensive! This will be a 4 week course focusing on proper engagement, conditioning, and the correct movement pathways to achieve your invert with a clean entry. This course will be a package on its own and is limited to 10 students. If you are interested DM us to get on the list. We will contact you first when the program is rolled out ❤️

Saturday, August 23:

🥀Stems and Petals (Open Level): 11:30-1:00
This workshop is dedicated to those that want to work on the intricate details!!! We will visit everything from the mechanics of hip rotation for liquid legs, how to extend through the arms and fingers for decorating your movement, and how to lead movement through different initiation points for better flow.

🍃Ivy (Intermediate +): 1:30-3:00

A practice in growth, spirals, and wrapping. We will approach the pole like a trellis with interesting combos that focus on using the entirety of the pole through Static Rotations! Learn some beautiful shapes and transitions that utilize the various points of contact and refresh your combos with purpose and poise. Pre req: Comfortably climb, invert and leg hang.

Sunday, Aug. 24

⬇️ Gravitate (Intermediate +): 11-12:30

Leave the ups and downs of life outside of the studio and experience them in seamless low flow transitions on the bad of the pole. Learn Dalton’s favorite pathways to the floor and back up the pole. You will also learn some dynamic shapes and transitions without having to leave the ground in the base work element of this workshop. Pre req: prior training in handstands/forearm stands and to support your body weight on the pole and move through shoulder stands.

👀🌪️: Eye of the Storm: (Intermediate): 1-2:30

This workshop is dedicated to the finesse of spin pole. We will incorporate seamless low flow elements blended with beautiful shapes. We will focus on weight distribution and heel technique through transitions while adding personal style through your shapes. Pre-req: Must support your own body weight with their arms and can jasmine proficiently.

All workshops are 90 minutes and only $60! Private Lessons available. DM for workshop availability, schedule and payment!

Dalton .pr will be on August 23 and August 24! We will have 2 workshops on Saturday: Stems and Petals from 11:30-1:00 (all levels) and Ivy from 1:30-3:00 working on that static rotation (intermediate).
