🚀 MISSION ANTARES SUMMER STEM CAMP — COMPLETED!
For the past three incredible weeks, our Boys & Girls Club members took part in the Antares Space Camp, a four‑day STEM experience repeated across multiple groups — giving youth ages 9–12 hands‑on learning in coding, 3D printing, drone building, and drone flying.

This annual camp is powered by an amazing partnership between Texas A&M International University, Boys & Girls Clubs of Laredo, United ISD, and H‑E‑B — all working together to open doors to future engineering careers.

Our members learned to design in TinkerCAD, build and fly drones, troubleshoot like real engineers, and take on challenges that pushed their creativity and confidence.
Engineering & robotics instructor Jose Segura said it best:
“Not by just watching, but by doing things real engineers do — designing, coding, building, troubleshooting, and simulation.”

Drone instructor Andrew Salinas was blown away by how fast our Antares campers worked:
“My middle school kids usually take a week to build this. These kids built it in a day — incredibly impressive.”

And the campers felt that excitement too:
⭐ Aria loved the drone competitions
⭐ Cristian focused on winning the 3D printing challenge
⭐ Every group showed nonstop enthusiasm and teamwork

From its start four years ago at our Benavides Club with just 15 students, Mission Antares has grown into one of Laredo’s most impactful youth STEM programs — and we’re already planning to expand again next summer.
