This has been such a heavy week for our country. On this day, September 11th, I find myself praying that we rediscover our shared humanity. Perhaps what we need most right now is to be on our knees, lifting up our nation and the generations to come. 🙏🏼 We may not always agree on politics, education, or religion…but at the heart of it all, we are still human, connected by more than what divides us.

It’s been quite a few weeks here in my hometown of Pinellas County. I know many areas outside our state are also facing devastation, and saying that feels like an understatement. 🙏🏼 What I’ve witnessed firsthand, and am so thankful for, is how our community has come together in the face of adversity. 💪🏽 Neighbors helping neighbors, strangers offering support—it’s been incredible to see and has brought me to tears many times. ❤️

We evacuated our home on Monday, unsure if we’d return to find it still standing. I knew no matter what, I had everything I needed with me; my family. Before we left, I hurried to deliver a gallery from a recent photo shoot to a wonderful family, knowing how uncertain the days ahead might be. Though our beaches aren’t the same as pictured here, and our homes, favorite restaurants, and beloved tourist spots have been damaged, we have so so much to be grateful for!! Thank you Jesus! The impact of Milton🌀could have been far worse, and for that, I thank God for His protection.

At the end of the day, it’s not about the material things we lost or the places we hold dear—for me it’s about keeping my eyes on Jesus and the gift of family, friends and community. While homes are being rebuilt 🏡 and businesses recovering, let’s keep focusing on what’s important and helping each other through this thing we call life! We will get through this, together! ♥️💪🏽
