Seco South – Welder/Fabricator
40hr - Mon-Fri - First Shift
Job Opportunity. (Metal Fabrication company)
Our company specializes in manufacturing stainless-steel railing systems. We also manufacture aluminum railings, frames, ladders and various other projects.

✨Position Summary:
This position joins, fabricates, stainless steel and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Inspects completed works to comply with company standards and tolerances. Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a metal fabrication/manufacturing facility.

✨Essential Functions:
• Stainless Steel TIG welding
• Weld metal using welding gun or gas or arc welding equipment
• Read blueprints and engineers specifications
• Connect hoses and turn valves to release fuel gas and oxygen to ignite mixture
• Guide torch along weld line to bend, melt, or build up metal
• Correct malformation in parts and hammer out bulges or bends
• Assure completed fabrications meet specifications and tolerances
• Maintain cleanliness in assigned area
• Maintain all safety standards
• Support other departments as necessary
• Perform additional assignments in accordance with the Shop Supervisor’s direction
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

✨Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of related experience
• Post-Secondary Certificate awarded for training completed after high school, preferred (examples: welding program, construction trades)

✨Qualification/Requirements:
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Thorough ability in welding various materials.
• Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools, uses, and basic maintenance.
• Good organizational skills
• Proficient basic math skills
• Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment
• Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and vendors

✨While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
• Regular lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 45 pounds
• Regular pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Walking and standing for long periods of time
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, or crouching
• Grasp and manipulate objects

✨Before employment:
• Have reliable transportation
• Complete drug test
• Complete welding test onsite

The primary responsibility of a rigging swagger is to fabricate/swage cable rigging for boats and railings.

Seco South primarily manufactures architectural hand railing system.

Experience preferred.
*We are willing to train hard working individuals with limited experience.

✨Essential Functions:
• Set up and operate manufacturing equipment.
• Use a tape measure to ensure rigging is manufactured to specified length.
• Swage cables with specified fittings.
• Examine work pieces for defects.
• Comply with set standards and safety specifications.
• Complete housekeeping duties in work/project area on daily basis.
• Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specification.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

✨Knowledge/ skills/ expertise:
• High school education 1-2 years of related experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing tools and their proper use.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
• Self-motivated.
• Punctual with reliable transportation. (We are located in Largo 5 minutes from US 19, just off of Ulmerton Rd. )

✨Physical Demands:

• This position requires continual use of your arms and hands.
• This position requires long periods of standing.
• The use of safety equipment such as masks, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection ect. are utilized daily.
• This position requires lifting and maneuvering 50lbs without physical restrictions.
• This is a 40 hour per week job with occasional overtime.
