Largo United Soccer Club Recreational Fall Soccer Program
Largo United Soccer Club is pleased to announce that the Recreational Fall Soccer Program, for ages 4 through 19 for boys and girls, has begun its online registration process.
Teams will be determined by the school year schedule with an August 1st deadline and will automatically register to the correct age group online. Players will be subject to a draft, held by Gulfcoast Youth Soccer Association (GYSA).
Under 6 (August 1st, 2015 – July 31st, 2017) and Under 8 (August 1st, 2013 – July 31st 2015) age groups are introductory programs that focus on instruction and small sided games in a safe and fun environment.
All exercises are designed age appropriate and fun centered activities. Practices will be held one day per week and will last approximately 45-50 minutes. Players will need a size 3 soccer ball, cleats and shin guards.
Practice will begin for both U6 and U8 age groups the first week of October with the season beginning first Saturday of November 2021 and will end second weekend of February 2022. U6 and U8 age groups will practice once per week. The dates of match play and the number of matches may change due to GYSA guidelines.
The under 6 age group will play 3v3 with no goal keepers and their games will last 40 minutes. The club provides a complete uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) and an award.
The under 8 age group will play 4v4 with no goalkeepers with their games lasting 48 minutes. Teams will travel to clubs in the local area to play a portion of their games. The club provides a complete uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) and award.
Under 10 (August 1st, 2011 – July 31st, 2013) age group will practice two times per week and will begin the first week of October. The season begins the first weekend of November 2021 and will end the second weekend of February 2022. Teams will play approximately 8-10 games and will travel for half their games to local teams in Seminole and Clearwater.
This age group plays 7v7 and matches last 50 minutes. Players will need a size 4 ball, soccer cleats and shin guards. The club provides a complete uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) and award. Some teams may elect to play in the GYSA jamboree at the end of the season held in February.
Under 12 (August 1st, 2009 – July 31st, 2011) age group will play 9v9 and will play with a size 4 soccer ball. All players will need a soccer ball, soccer cleats and shin guards. Practices will be held two per week and will begin the first week of October.
The season will begin the first Saturday of November 2021 and will end the second weekend of February 2022. GYSA does not permit co-ed teams for league play. The club provides a complete uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) and award. The under 12 age group will play between 9-11 games this season.
Under 14-19 (August 1st, 2007 – July 31st, 2002) age groups will begin practice the first week of October and will practice two nights per week. The games will begin the first Saturday of November 2021 and end the second weekend of February, 2022. These age groups will play 10-11 games and play 11v11 with goalkeepers.
Game durations vary as follows: U14 play 70 minutes; U16 play 80 minutes; U19 play 90 minutes. Players will need a size 5 soccer ball, soccer cleats and shin guards. The club will provide a complete uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) for all players and a participation medal. Teams in these age groups can elect to participate in the GYSA end of season tournament. Expenses related to this event are the responsibility of the team.
A refundable volunteer fee of $30 is also due per household. Volunteer fees are refundable once 3 hours of volunteer hours are completed by January 31, 2022.
