Today is my last NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League NHRA Pacific Division Jr. Finals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I've had a lot of fun coming to Vegas since 2022. It's been a great learning experience and I've met a lot of nice people over the years.

We are pleased to report that today's safari hunt for the rare NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League diamond Wally was a success! Six rounds of tough competition led us to the prized trophy!

Team Sonoma Raceway Drag Racing has packed the pith helmets, fired up the tow rigs, and set off on safari this weekend for the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League NHRA Pacific Division Finals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway! 🏁🦁

The hunt? The exceedingly rare and magnificent NHRA 75th Anniversary Diamond Wally — a prized species seldom seen in the wild and known to reveal itself only to the sharpest hunters on the starting line.

Steady on the tree, straight down the groove, and tally-ho!

The Great Las Vegas Wally Safari is officially underway. 🏆🦏🏁

Opening day yesterday at the Jr. Finals in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, we came up just a little short in Round 1. 😔 Today is a new day and we're racing for Team Sonoma. We'll try to post some pics of our "safari" later today.

Forgot to post Sunday results from ! We got by Round 1 in both SP & SC, but then exited in Round 2 in both classes. The weekend was a great learning experience and tune up for next week's NHRA Pacific Division Double Divisional!

Good day at yesterday! 1st Rd win in Super Pro and close 1st Rd loss in Super Comp (see timeslip). Then a water leak ended our day. We got it all fixed and will try again today!

It’s been a minute, but we finally got back to the track yesterday, and there’s a lot to catch up on!

The big news: We purchased the Victory Express car from the Flores family, and I entered my first bracket race with it at Sonoma Raceway Drag Racing.

I made it to Round 2, where we had an absolutely awesome drag race. I was .002 on the tree, but my opponent slipped underneath me with a .001 light. We were both trying to tighten up the stripe and ended up running .019 above our dial-ins.

Margin of victory: 0.0015 seconds, which was 3 inches. 🤯 My dad said you couldn't do that again if you tried!

But wait…there’s more.

I also raced the Jr. Dragster and made it to the semifinals, where I lost another incredible race by, you guessed it, 0.0015 seconds! 🤯 Guess my dad was wrong. 🤣

That semifinal finish was enough to officially lock up the 2026 Sonoma Track Points Championship, which put me into the Jr. Dragster King of the Track race.

And we got it done! 🏆

I was fortunate to come out on top and bring home a very special NHRA 75th Anniversary Diamond Wally!

My Grandpa John passed away last Wednesday. He got me into drag racing, taught me a lot of tips and tricks about welding, and helped me understand motors. I'll miss him a lot.
